Down The Tubes

I can't wait to see what comes out!

I can’t wait to see what comes out!

“What tubes?” as the late, great George Carlin once said.sqturday squirrel logo

This week’s Saturday Squirrel is obviously expecting something quite exciting to come out of this tube.  It’s actually the drain extension for one of my downspouts… but he doesn’t know that.  As far as he’s concerned, this is a fantastic tunnel from which something totally awesome is about to emerge!

What can it be?

That’s your cue, readers!  Tell me in the comments what you think this squirrel is anxiously awaiting the arrival of.  Be creative, be funny… be original!

And have a great, and hopefully warm weekend everyone!

If it’s a she squirrel, the big payoff would be … nuts to stow away for winter!

A he squirrel, on the other hand, is hoping for a flat screen TV attached to cable so he can surf for his buddy Reege.

    Great shot, Bill.

    • I can just picture a squirrel with a 51 inch big screen up in his nest… probably hooked up by extension cord to one of my outside outlets… and stealing my cable, because that’s what squirrels would do! Da Reege would be echoing throughout the neighborhood… at least until after dark when the real entertainment would be on…

I am chuckling at the comment Mark made and I cannot improve on his originality! Great photo which surely will get quite a ’round’ of funny thoughts here! Smiles, Robin

  4. JackieP says:

Oh nuts! He’s hoping for that automatic nut finder he ordered from Acme.

  5. grandmalin says:

    This must be a tube station….and he’s never seen a real subway…..

  6. merbear74 says:

    A cookie tube, of course.

  7. Nuts. He is expecting nuts. Lots of nuts. He’s a bit nutty that way.

  8. NotAPunkRocker says:

I have to agree with Grandmalin. It’s waiting for a subway that’s never gonna arrive.

Unless it’s a discarded Subway sandwich, but then I would have to figure out how that even got in the gutters to begin with.

    • Around here, you would never know. I’m the yard that’s in everyone’s neighborhood that the kids like to use as a shortcut. Sometimes I have more trash in my yard than you’ll find on the side of a highway…

You were my best hope for piranha plant… that would be unexpectedly expected!

  9. It looks like that squirrel’s waiting to find out if it’s going to be a contestant on the next series of Who Wants to be a Millionaire?! 😉

  10. 1jaded1 says:

He is waiting for the money that he requested from the bank drive through (squirrel got lost)? Thank you for the Carlin link…I might add Hell in a handbasket…could you imagine the delivery to that place VIA method? I wish he were here.

  11. Mental Mama says:

I’m thinking perhaps he’s getting ready for a big ol’ hit on the pipe. 😀

  12. draliman says:

Squirrels are clever. I reckon he knows it’s a downspout and he’s waiting for his bath.

  13. gentlestitches says:

He is waiting for the wormhole to become stable so that his friend can pop out and visit. 😀

  14. Lynda says:

CHESTER COME OUT THIS INSTANT! How many times have your mother and I told you not to play in the gutters, son. There’s rats in there!

    They’ll chew your taaaaail off……..

  15. The mouse that stole his acorn is in the tube. Quite frankly, the squirrel is going to be disappointed. If the mouse ever does emerge from that side of the tube again, which I doubt, it’s going to be sans acorn.

  16. In alternative, beetles. A family of beetles. I don’t know why, but I just have this gut feeling: beetles.
