The Winter Of Our Discontent

Hang in there, little buddy. It's almost over.

Hang in there, little buddy. It’s almost over.

It’s the winter that just doesn’t seem to want to go away.  I actually like winter, don’t get me wrong, but enough is enough!sqturday squirrel logo

This week’s Saturday Squirrel shares the same sentiment we all do.  Frozen in a frigid trance, wondering if this mini ice age will ever end.  He’s quite tired of freezing his nuts off!

Tomorrow, the calendar flips to March.  March is usually associated with Spring, even though the Vernal Equinox is still three weeks away.  Still, surely it means the weather will turn around soon, right?

Have a wonderful, and hopefully warm weekend everyone!

  1. I hope tomorrow Miss Spring says hell-o… to have snow on your nose isn’t comfy, I know… and it can be dangerous… one of our neighbors landed in the doghouse for having snow on the nose :o)

Feel like a mole. It’s been dark and dank for months!

  3. merbear74 says:

He does look rather pissy and I can’t say that I blame him.

  4. draliman says:

Squirrel does look a little disconsolate, doesn’t he? He only has to hang on for a couple more weeks.

  5. Oh my goodness what a cute squirrel. I love the way he holds his little hands together.

  6. reocochran says:

I love when animals have snow on their noses, E.S.! Cute photo and such a nice message, almost out of Winter….

  7. And as we enter the sign of Pisces, end of winter, end of the zodiac, I ponder the tons and drifts and icicles and I wonder … is this the year the NEW ice age begins?

    • It seems so funny to contrast this with the Summer three years ago when it seemed like it would be 100 degrees forever and I forgot what rain felt like. Had this happened in December or January, it would have been bad enough… but in February, when Spring seems just around the corner is oh so cruel…

  8. Dear fellow. Think of it as the tail end of Winter! It is very warm here and we have our doors open to let in the breeze.:-D

    • If I opened the door this morning, I’d be blinded by the new blanket of snow from last night! If I see any squirrels hippity hopping through it today, I’ll be sure to get some pictures, though!

  9. NotAPunkRocker says:

Did you nail him with a snowball first? Poor fella 😦
