Look At The Birdie!

Whose profile is better?

Hey!  Down in back!

It’s just another cute profile picture of a squirrel in my backyard…. though this one has something non-sciurine in it that catches your eye.  What’s with the blackbird butting in on sqturday squirrel logomy photo shoot?  Is it even possible to photobomb a picture while in the background?  Even out of focus, the bird’s piercing eye and dark feathers divert attention away from the furry little fellow who was supposed to be the star of this picture.

Come on, dude!  I feed my squirrels corn… they don’t even have to raid your precious little birdfeeder.  Give them a break and let them enjoy the Saturday Squirrel spotlight by themselves.  Isn’t there an Alfred Hitchcock movie you could be crashing right about now?  Where’s a scarecrow when you need one?

Have a great weekend everyone… especially all you mothers out there!

  1. Love it, and yes, it is a photobomb.

A lot of photobombs are background shots, I think Zach Braff has a whole bunch that he shares online when the original photographer posts them.

Some of these are cute, but not birdy and squirrel cute: http://m.nydailynews.com/entertainment/best-celebrity-photobombs-gallery-1.1425870

    • I guess I had never really thought of that as photobombing before. I couldn’t get past the picture of QE2, though…. how in the hell do you take a selfie and not know someone like the Queen is lingering over your shoulder?

      • NotAPunkRocker says:

Well, that’s why I said some were cute…others are obviously trying to get the person (though the Queen is smiling, so maybe it’s just that she didn’t mind?)

  3. This is DARLING. Thanks for sharing.

It’s better to be photobombed, then you know, bombed by they bird. 🙂

I love that bird! He’s the Stan Lee of the ESN Universe!

It really looks like a professional photo. Or even one of those where they take a photo (the squirrel) and drop in front of a different background. Kind of like that video where they dressed cats up as Vikings attacking to Iron Maiden.

  6. A photo bombing blackbird! Wow! What a catch. That’s a classic shot. I’m very impressed and simultaneously, highly amused.

Great photo! 😀 Even the blackbirds have gotten into photo bombing!

  8. Trisha says:

What a great shot! So good of the squirrel and amazing to catch that creepy blackbird too. It does look like it belongs in The Birds. I would keep an extra close eye on your squirrel friends with that creep hanging around!

    • The nasty blackbirds easily outnumber the squirrels… I have photos of my hundreds of them in my backyard at the same time. We are apparently a stop on the annual mass migration tour, and they can get so loud that it will actually keep me up during the day…

Reblogged this on Blackbird's Nest and commented:
    Uh, oh… My bad. >.>

You haven’t “arrived” until you’ve been photobombed by a blackbird. 😛

Mr. Squirrel looks pretty nervous, though. And I have to say it: LOVE his little hands! ❤

    • I’d be nervous too if I noticed a creepy blackbird lurking around! Squirrel paws are so cute… and it’s hard not to notice those big claws for climbing trees!
