Sharing Is Tearing

The faces of sharing and caring.

The faces of sharing and caring.

Marilyn is on vacation this week, but I’ve so enjoyed telling stories from my photos old and new every Wednesday, that I’m going to carry on with my contribution to the Serendipitous Photo Story Prompt anyway!  Let’s get right to that combination of pixels that they say is worth a grand in words…

In the right corner, wearing the light purplish collar, we have the challenger BeBe.  And in the left corner, wearing the bluish collar and the befitting red eye, we have the undisputed chew toy tug of war champion Lizbit.  These two fine, upstanding girls co-habitate with my message board friend who I’ve annually visited in Oklahoma the past five years.  This is my favorite picture of the two… maybe my favorite canine photo I have ever taken.

Lizbit has the personality of an entire litter of puppies all wrapped up into a rather large, sturdy package.  She is always extremely happy to see me… hell, she is always extremely happy to see anyone.  But I like to think the ten gallons of dog slobber she leaves on my face are a gift only her most specialest of “friens” get treated to.

BeBe on the other hand is much more quiet and reserved… and is never allowed to receive attention from those for whom Lizbit has claimed as her own (i.e., me).  But she can show some fire while fighting with her sister over the toys, as I captured so well in my featured picture.

Because the event our get-together is built around got moved to this coming weekend this year (rather than the last weekend of February as had been customary), I opted out of attending since two road trips in a span of two weeks was a bit too much for me.  I’ll miss my girls… and no doubt Lizzie’s already wondered where her favorite annual visitor has been.  But hopefully next year…

  1. I wonder who won that sharing-battle :o) I agree sharing is tearing, it sometimes ends with confetti :o)

  2. Watching dogs play tug of war is part of the payback for all the medications, midnight walkies, drool and slobber. We love them and they entertain us. That’s why we, personally, have an entire pack. You can’t have just one. Well, you can, but what fun is that?? Thanks for playing along. I wrote the prompt (late, late, sorry) JUST for you 🙂

    • Just for me? Awwww. I certainly wasn’t trying to interrupt your getaway… I like this idea, and even if you eventually tire of it, I may continue doing it on my own every Wednesday… or at least until I run out of photos to show off, which could happen… theoretically.

They look like fun dogs. And the pics are great. I love the tug of war pic. I keep on trying to get one of my dogs playing like this, but they stop and stare at me as soon as they know I want a picture. Darn their furry butts.

The next time they see you they will be sooooo excited there will be a danger of them wagging their tails off!

  7. Reminds me of two donkeys and an old wellyboot…
