Luncheon On The Grass

Yeah, I eat like an animal.... I AM an animal!

Yeah, I eat like an animal…. I AM an animal!

When I change out the corn cobs in my squirrel feeder, I merely pitch the empties into the yard to eventually get mulched by my mower.  Sometimes, a squirrel can’t help but to try sqturday squirrel logoand get every last morsel off of these kernel holders even after they’ve been discarded.  I had to run and get the camera a few weeks ago when I caught this guy having a blast with one of the used cobs I’d carelessly tossed, figuring its nuggets had clearly been exhausted.

Awwwwwwwwww!!!!  A squirrel rolled over on his back!  Now isn’t that an adorable little Saturday Squirrel?

Eat hardy, my dear scavenger… though I fear your dinner is merely full of blanks…

Have a fulfilling weekend everyone!

  1. that’s a super technique to eat while laying on your back… bet 9 of 10 humans would puke when they try to eat that way :o)

  2. Our dogs will munch on corn husks with gusto … and anyway, that’s what they make corn flakes from. Mm mm good! Made from the HEART of the corn!!

  3. Mental Mama says:

Is he eating it or getting freaky with it?

  4. Just Chillin. Human kids do the say thing – not eat dry corn cobs – but eat on their backs. OK some might eat dry corn cobs but not on my watch.

Thank you again for another exceptionally toxic cute squirrel shot.

  5. Awww!! What a cutie! ❤

  6. Trisha says:

So cute! It’s hugging that cob the way Scooby hugs his catnip pillow. Hopefully the squirrel didn’t turn mean afterward, like Scooby does.

  7. Ally Bean says:

I’ve never seen a squirrel do that. What a fun photo!
