The Mack Daddy

dad money

It’s Wednesday, so it’s time once again for Marilyn’s Serendipitous Photo Prompt.  It’s also time for me to attend another ballgame tonight, so I’m getting my tail in bed early this morning.  As such, I’m only going to give you the basics behind the photo I just posted.  If you want a story, hey, let your imaginations run wild with it!

The gentleman seated in my duct tape upholstered and cat scratched chair is my Dad.  Yes, he’s posing with all of those dead presidents lined up on the table… though as you can see, the chief executive on all of those portraits has wooden ivory teeth, so Dad’s probably not going to get knocked over for his cash cache.  He was actually repaying a loan to me, and I always ask for ones in return to support my Where’s George habit.

Unlike myself, my Dad is quite a ham whenever there’s a camera around.  If I ever get ahold of the picture where all my sisters did his hair……….

I’ve gotten a chance to read almost nothing on your blogs since the start of this week, and that’s probably not going to change over the next 24 hours.  I’ll try to catch up with y’all tomorrow….

  1. you have a supercool dad… I like the picture, I first thought you picked the right numbers of the lottery :o)

  2. Your dad almost looks like all the other dads in the world. Handsome and cool. Just realized there are so many dead Presidents !

    • I believe there are 38 of them to be exact…. unless you count Grover Cleveland twice, which I don’t think would be fair to him. An interesting trivia tidbit, I believe there was a brief window of time before his resignation when Richard Nixon was in office and there were no living ex-Presidents. All of his predecessors had already died!

Have you met my friend…George Washington??

  4. I’m impressed that any family member is returning any loan to another family member. In my family, all “loans” are really “grants-in-aid” and will never been seen again. Happy Wednesday and may your team triumph at the ballpark this evening!!

    • it’s funny… both among family and at work, I seem to have a loan shark type reputation… like I will start busting kneecaps and/or charging interest if I’m not paid back promptly. I’m not really like that… I don’t think, but it does seem to keep people from using me as their own personal charity.

When I first saw the photo I thought it was of one of those people who post pictures of their ill-gotten gains on Facebook and then get arrested.
    Sorry, ES senior 🙂

    • It does look like that, which is one of the reasons I took the picture in the first place. He was separating the money by the letter on each note (It’s issuing Federal Reserve Bank), which was unnecessary, but created this funny scene I had to preserve…

Nice pick of the father of you and the father of our country smiling a similar smile, Bill.

Have fun at the game tonight, good man. 🙂

    • Poor George… his most famous portrait, and our everlasting image of him, was the equivalent of a bad drivers license picture. And George would have looked cooler with some of my Dad’s facial hair (or even my weed patch), but I guess that was frowned upon in the 18th century…

  7. Trisha says:

Great photo of your dad. He’s cool for repaying the loan and for being such a fun guy and posing for the camera. Enjoy the game! I hope there are no 3 hour rain delays tonight.

Oh he is too young to be your Dad! (batts eyes) ❤

    • LOL! My Mom always got that when I was in my teens… everyone thought she was my older sister. Both parents only have me by 20 years, so I’m really not that far behind them in the age game!
