It’s time for another Wednesday Photo Prompt, which I’m doing of my own volition again since our usual leader of the pack, Marilyn, is having a Hall of Fame vacation.
Tomorrow is the sixth anniversary of the day I brought the two little furry beasts you see pictured above home with me. You probably recognize Ody on the right, he’s practically as much of a star on my blog as the fictional characters I draw since I often incorporate him as a model when I take photos around the house. The black kitten is Ody’s twin brother Spilly, who no longer romps about this earthly domain, but forever remains as a part of The Nest in spirit.
These two rambunctious little brothers were seven weeks old when I took them off the hands of a co-worker who’d rescued the mama and litter from an abandoned apartment where she lived. And I made damn sure to take as many pictures of them as I could while they were still kittens because…… KITTENS! They were so damn cute at that age…
So rather than waste any more time typing words you won’t bother to read anyway with all the toxic cuteness, just enjoy more pictures of my original feline pair from their Kitten Chow days… many of which I’ve never posted here before!

Ody wants a cherry sno cone!
OK, boys, one last group picture with Dad…
I’ll be back next Wednesday with more photos that will definitely not be this level of cute…
High dose of cuteness and I can imagine the fun you must have had while they were kittens. Thanks for sharing the pics.
You’re welcome! They were a lot of fun even after they grew up. I was always amused at how they’d aggressively wrestle with each other then curl up and take a nap together!
Kittens are so much like kids. That “brotherly love” photo reminds me exactly of my boys…when they’re engaging in an all out brawl during dinner.
Every single day they’d try to beat each other up! Then when it came time to take my nap, I’d find them curled up on the bed together!
Awwwww, they were so cute! I love the photo of them sitting by the keyboard. That’s some classic kitten cuteness there! It’s been so long since I had a kitten in the house. In November it will be 13 years since we brought Trouble and Scooby home from the shelter. I miss the days when they didn’t hate each other.
Looks like you got a case of grumpy old cats! I wish I could have seen both of my kittens grow up to be cranky old sourpusses, but I’ll just have to make do with Ody and Spilly’s misfit replacement Biskit growing old together instead. I think their relationship’s more like brothers in law…
I’m very sorry about Spilly. It’s hard to get over those special kitties. We love them all but some of them just have something that’s extra special. My Sassafras was like that too. I’m surrounded by (mostly) sweet kitties and I still miss her terribly!
“because…… KITTENS!” is always a good excuse.
An excuse accepted across the internet…
Kittens are always appropriate. Excellent choice, sir.
Just to show I have pictures of critters other than squirrels and possums!
Your boys are adorable. 🙂
Awww, I wish I hadn’t lost all my kitten photos of my two. Now you sir know how to capture cuteness! 🙂
Kittens have a way of being cute 24/7/365…
Ditto what Mental Mama said. Just. so. cute.
The squirrels are going to get jealous from the outpouring of kitten love!
Yay kittens! I was worried you were going to draw me in with the word “kittens” and then post loads of pictures of baby possums.
I only wish! A post full of pictures of baby possum brothers would probably break the internet!
It would break my brain, certainly 🙂
awww! Fainting with the cute! Oh sooooo adorable (and naughty) 😀
Boys will be boys!
Just to show you where WE are at, a couple of years ago we watched the Kitten Bowl instead of the Super Bowl. I don’t remember who won, but I’m pretty sure there was no cheating.
If the kittens aren’t cheating, then they must not be trying very hard. Wait till one of them spikes the other team’s Gatorade jug with catnip…
OMP!! Double T,R.O.U.B.L.E. with those two. I can just imagine the antics they get in and out of at your crib. Love them… maybe just a little as cute little kittens 🙂 XOXO – Bacon
You shoulda seen the day they got into my candy bowl while I was at work. Spilly barfed down from two shelves up on my knickknack stand…
Snorts and eeww – at least if they were here, I could blame them for everything like that. XOXO – Bacon
Kittens! There is nothing better in the universe than gratuitous kittens. And they grew up to be such handsome guys too.
This blog is Rated KYUTE for gratuitous kittens… and squirrels…. and possums…
I cannot help myself, when baby animals or little babies are featured, my immediate reaction is “Aww!!” So cute and they were a handful, I am sure!
I never really appreciated just how cute they were as kittens until they grew up and I compared the pictures! They grow up so fast…
Yeah, young-thing cuteness across all species, Bill. Would you look at that cute little fish! Oh, no, the big fish ate it!!
I’m surprised fish haven’t cannibalized themselves into extinction yet. That reminds me of the guy I worked with a long time ago who on his last day decided to have a little fun transferring the prey fish into the predator fish tanks and watching the ensuing carnage. One of the many reasons my Mecca quite selling live fish a while back…
Wow. That’s an awful exit interview strategy for further employment referral, Bill.
They were so cute! I now really want a kitten…
There is nothing more cute than a little kitten using its claws to crawl up your pants leg and then leap up onto your shoulder and sit there. Who needs a parrot?
Yeah, claws are not quite so cute. But the pain is worth it sometimes!
