Who Turned Out The Lights?

This elevator's too fast!

This elevator’s too fast!

Did you ever have one of those days when you just wanted to bury your head in the sand and pretend the world had gone away?  Looks like this poor little squirrel did.  Just what in the heck is this critter doing?sqturday squirrel logo

Is he overreacting to having a really bad fur day?

Is he scrambling to find the cellphone he dropped from his nest?

Did he try to scurry down the tree too fast and end up head planting instead?

Is he having scary visions of a fourth annual postseason squirrel boycott?

Of course, while I’m pondering all of these silly questions based upon this ridiculous looking photo… you are probably trying to figure out what exactly you are seeing here.  Well, it turns out the foreground is actually a small mound of dirt at our park, and the tree with our squirrel on it is actually about 10 feet behind it.  So the hill is merely obscuring the bottom portion of what would otherwise be just another boring picture of a squirrel…

But because The Nest loves photographic optical illusions, we’re awarding this amateur ostrich the honor of being this week’s Saturday Squirrel!

Keep your head above ground this weekend, everyone!

Sorry that sometimes we all want to bury our heads. I feel this way on rainy, snowy or brittle cold days. I wish there was something called, “I’m Sick of Work, I am staying home due to inclement weather” excuses with ability to be accepted by all H.R. departments, E.S.! 🙂

Great capture! That is such a funny sight, to see what appear to be the squirrel’s back half sticking up out of the ground like that. I’m sure my squirrels can relate to the feeling of wanting to bury their head. It’s raining so hard here today. The poor little guys look so miserable but, so far, they’ve all declined my invitation to come in and dry off.

I know just how he feels! Sometimes I would just love to put the world on pause! 😀

  6. Exactly the way I’m feeling now a days. I can relate to this. I can only say that she is also feeling lonely like me and don’t want to come out of it !

Snorts! At least he doesn’t have his paws on his nuts…or does he? Snorts with evil piggy laughs XOXO – Bacon
