For about the first half hour of my most recent visit to the local park four weeks ago, it seemed like the day was going to be a dud. I didn’t encounter many squirrels, and the few I did cross paths with didn’t provide me with many photographic opportunities. My patience, however, was amply rewarded… and that should be apparent by the fact that this is the fourth straight week I’ve used a photo from that morning in my Saturday Squirrel feature, and I may continue to dip into that album for several weeks to come!
Just look at this little cutie perched as pretty as can be on that small stump of a branch protruding from the trunk of a tree. That’s probably a good 20-30 feet off the ground, yet squirrels aren’t going to get vertigo looking down from even the highest of heights. He’s probably leaped from tree to tree at much, much higher elevation than where he’s sitting now. Thanks for taking the time from your busy day to strike an adorable pose for me, fella! You get to be this week’s Saturday Squirrel!
The love and adoration of all of my readers, that’s what!
Have a wonderful Fall weekend everyone!
that’s a cute model :o) and I bet it never acts like some biped-models and throws a phhone on your head… just some nuts :o)
If squirrels had phones, they might throw them as well. And anvils, if they could lift them…
This little tree hugger definitely wins my love and adoration. What a cutie! I love the way squirrels look at us with so much curiosity like this one is. Sometimes I think they like watching us almost as much as we like watching them. Although while we’re marveling at how amazing they are, they’re probably marveling at how helpless we are without any claws to climb trees!
LOL! I’m sure I’ve had all kinds of crazy squirrel thoughts directed at me. Who is this dumbass with that weird black box over his face, and why is he chasing me around this tree? They can definitely flash some weird expressions, though!
I’m sure I made Shorty think something like “Even human chicks can’t keep their paws off my tail!” I couldn’t help myself, I reached out and touched it. He jumped away but didn’t bite me.
Now that’s a cute little fellow 🙂
Yes, and a bit surprised by all of the attention he’s getting!
He is really adorable. And I think he likes you!
Well that would be a first! Most squirrels act like I am the antichrist, even if I have food in my hand. Untrusting little devils, they are…
Soooo sweet!
That second photo is one of my best! It’s like he’s saying, “Oh, G’day!”
G’day wee mate! ❤
Cute indeed. Although my brain thinks that that short branch looks like the tree has an erection…
Well, it should be no surprise that a tree has wood…
Thank god! I thought I was the only pervert in the group… 😉
This guy here is a star, Bill. Poser in a good way. 🙂
He has that same look on his face when someone asks for his autograph…
He says, “What, are you nuts?”
