Squirrel photography can be a very rewarding hobby just on the basis of the almost limitless number of adorably cute scenes you can capture of our sciruine friends with enough patience. However, given their arboreal nature, there is an extra added bonus you can compliment your Autumnal squirrel pictures with that can make them doubly enjoyable to feast your eyes upon. Yes, I just noticed this year how many cool pictures I got of squirrels seemingly posed in front of vividly colored foliage that puts to shame those crappy backgrounds they wheel out at your local portrait studio. I particularly enjoy the way the sunlight reflects off the greenish-yellow leaves that populate the scenery around this handsome squirrel in the photo above. It takes the whole photo up a notch from cute to super freaking awesomely cute!
If yellow isn’t your thing, perhaps you’d prefer a tinge of red?
How about a nice, late Autumn crispy brown?
That’s OK, my pretty little Saturday Squirrels. Even now that the trees have gone bare, you’ll always have plenty of colorful leaves to frolic through in my yard! They compliment your grey fur quite nicely, I must say…
Have a great weekend everyone!
Lovely. I like autumn colors so I think that all critters look wonderful in the fall. Around here I get the best photos of squirrels in the winter because they stop to pose for me. I think squirrels know that their fur looks best when the skies are clear blue and the tree branches are brownish gray. They are, after all, narcissistic little things.
There isn’t much prettier than a squirrel with a bushy winter coat! If only I could grow fur on top of my head like they can… when you got it, you flaunt it.
the last phot is heartmelting… what a cute guy… Easy said he will make him a leaf pile :o)
That is so nice of him! I’ll bet the two of them would have a lot of fun playing in the leaves…
Oh, all the greenery is comin’ down, boy.
And then your wife seems to think you’re….
Oops! Sorry, I was breaking out into song there…. ha ha! Great pictures! 😛
I am notorious for inserting earworms into my posts! Glad you caught on to my Supertramp!
Oh yeah… Ear worm is right! I’m pretty good at lyrics. Especially when It is a group I like 😉
These are all so cute! I am envious of how you capture squirrels up in the trees. I never can. All the evergreens we have block my view of squirrel life in the trees. The leaves and trees make such a beautiful backdrop. Much prettier than my decaying deck!
I was going to pick a favorite of these squirrel photos but I can’t. They are all heart-meltingly cute!
One of my neighbors has evergreens in their yard, and occasionally I end up with pine cones in my yard brought over (or possibly thrown over) by the squirrels. Unfortunately, that is one thing I have yet to get a picture of… a squirrel with a pine cone. I always curse how the leaves get in the way of tree shots in the Spring and Summer… and I’ve been meaning to get to the park again now that the leaves are off the trees, but it’s rained too much the past month and our park floods like my backyard! Hopefully it’ll dry out before it gets too cold…
I don’t have a picture of a squirrel with a pine cone yet either. I wonder what they’re thinking when they throw them into your yard!
Probably, “Darn it! Another dud grenade!”
And you have a great weekend too, if you aren’t working. In which case have a great weekend anyway.
The first photo is a winner with the light coming through the leaves. Excellent!!
Even though I always wish a great weekend to everyone on Saturday, my weekend has always just passed. But Saturday Squirrel sounds so much more alliterative than Wednesday Squirrel…
That first picture inspired this whole post because it definitely caught my eye while I was processing that batch of pics! Thank you!
So sweet! Those adorable little toes.Great photos. ❤
This little squirrel went to market, this little squirrel stayed home…
I love your squirrel shots! I don’t understand why people dislike them – I feed them special squirrel food when it is cold. We name them all Spanish names because they are so industrious, Marisol, Miguel, Mario, Margarita, Manuel – it goes on and on. 🙂
¡Vive la ardilla! I am proud to be one of the voices of reason when it comes to our cute sciurine friends. They can be troublemakers…. but they’re so damned cute!
LOL!
