Welcome to another Wednesday Picture Day here at The Nest, where I dig into the digitized archives of my shitty photography to bring you the very worst upon which I’ll make some snarky comments on… pretty much keeping with the whole theme of my blog.
You may have noticed that despite being warm blooded creatures that don’t have to sit under a heat lamp to survive, cats seem to gravitate towards those areas in your home where the sun peeks in through the windows. My cat Biskit can commonly be found sunning himself on my neatly vacuumed living room floor, but Ody’s never been much for tanning himself. A natural beauty, he seems to think he is…
Ohhhhhh, but look at what I captured here! Ody and his adopted brother Biskit sharing the invading solar energy between themselves! How absolutely adorable! I’d be willing to guess that this scene was a result of Ody trying to muscle in on Biskit’s turf as he’s sometimes wont to do. My big lug of a feline sure likes to throw his weight around in front of The Biz…. something his smaller but spunkier real brother Spilly never let him do when he was still around. As much as Ody vehemently protested my bringing Biskit home in the wake of Spilly’s death four and a half years ago, the two of them have managed to get along just fine since then.
Enjoy the peaceful sunbeam while you can, boys. Your annual fun filled trip to the vet’s office is only about 48 hours away…..
I’ll do this again next week…. if I’m not clawed to death before then.
they should rename that song from Carwash in Catwash… :o) Good luck when you have to see the vet. Hope for good news and that no one is on diet for christmas :o)
I don’t think my cats would do a diet. Biskit already looks like a starving orphan, while Ody has a cute little roll of blub that jiggles behind him when he runs. Biskit used to live above the vet’s office (I adopted him from them) and Ody had a traumatic six day stay there once… so neither of them much like the prospect of going back!
They are cuties!
Almost as cute as my squirrels……..
Almost…
Your cat are so adorable. They love to be clicked…look at them how they pose for camera.
Ha! Usually when they are in a cute pose, as soon as I grab the camera, they disperse and try to act all serious. I think this time they were just too lazy to get up and act natural when I grabbed the camera!
Aw, it is so sweet the way they’re cuddling like that, even if it did start as Ody trying to move in on Biskit’s territory! My cats would never share a sunbeam, although I think Trouble would like someone to share sunbeams and soft blankets with.
Good luck at the vet’s office. I can’t imagine trying to wrangle two cats at once!
I was given a cat carrier along with the kittens way back when, which once used to hold both Ody AND Spilly. Now Ody couldn’t fit in it by himself anymore… so I use it to haul Biskit in and Ody has to ride shotgun. He’ll usually try to crawl down by my feet, which makes driving a whole lot of fun. Thankfully, it’s a short trip…
As for the two of them cuddling…………

LOL! Oh my! My cats would never do that with each other either! Trouble would end up a bloody corpse if he tried that move on Scooby. Smarty tried his signature move, the Smash and Hump, on Frosty when he first got here but, since he’s a dog, it wasn’t that surprising. It’s hilarious that Ody knows how to close your door!
Most of my cats not only loved baking in sunshine, they would stay so close to the fire you’d think they’d combust any minute. You think they store up the heat against future cold weather?
Given how warm my cats always are on very cold winter days, I’d say that’s a plausible explanation for this behavior…
So cute but now I have an earworm that i just got rid of a couple days ago.
I really need to put an earworm warning on my blog given my affinity for using song titles as post headers. I don’t even care for that song!
Awww that is so cute! Also very timely because a little “surprise” is winging it’s way to them RIGHT NOW as I speak! ❤
Ooooooooooooohhhhh…. that has perked their ears up, and well as mine.
Oh snorts – you said the “V” word. Oh my! Houdini has a visit tomorrow night – snorts. XOXO – Bacon
I’m sure fun will be had by everyone. And by everyone, I mean except me and my cats!
Don’t cats love going to the vet?
For how much it costs me, they better damn well love it…
Ahhh, my beautiful Ody. Such a solid elegant gentleman. Biskit is turning out quite nicely too LOL
And licking your brother is such a gentlemanly thing to do…
He’s doing what any older brother would do. Make sure the kid is presentable..
They are so cute. We have an abusive mother and daughter, who regularly wallops her darling baby because she is eating her food, sitting in front of the fire, sitting too close to Mum or just annoying her…
When I had the two brothers, they spent half of the day fighting with each other and the other half of it making up.
Should I ask how the trip went or just send you some antiseptic wipes?
It went fine. In fact, there wasn’t a peep out of either of them on the trip home, which was very odd. Maybe a dose of tranquilizers went in those booster shots…
I suspect vets are getting wiser and finding this a sensible choice!
