It’s Wednesday… at least I think it’s Wednesday. It’s hard to tell after being off for the past seven nights and having all of the days just blend together… especially the first few days of the year when it seem to go from New Years Day right to January 10th before you can even blink. Anyway, it’s time for another piece of visual stimulation we like to call Picture Day here at The Nest. Let’s see what my not-so-candid camera caught this time for me to bore you to tears with this week…
I have many reasons for refusing to participate in the gift exchanging traditions of Christmas. Of course, I’m cheap and stingy… I hate shopping… and I don’t like getting people shit I know damn good and well they don’t want. And what’s more, I hate getting shit I don’t want. Since my Mom is already offended that I made fun of her cooking skills the other day, I’ll go ahead and bemoan the fact that she feels like she has to buy tons of garbage for everyone every Christmas. I have always been near impossible to shop for since I never ask for anything, so Mom takes advantage of my squirrel fetish and drops a load of squirrel themed stuff she finds on the internet on me every year. Two of those gifts this most recent holiday were a pair of impressionistic squirrel designed throw pillows. The squirrels are cute… there’s no doubt about that. But guess how often my couch gets sat on by anyone, including myself? I figured these pillows weren’t good for anything but decorating my purposely mundane living room… at least until I caught Biskit enjoying one of the pillows a couple days ago.
I got a picture of him actually looking at the camera, but of course….
Oh well… the normally camera shy Biskit almost gave me a really cute picture, which would have been worth getting the pillows by itself.
Hey, I’ve actually managed to accomplish my major blog related goal I set before my vacation started… and that was to revamp and update the pages in my header! You know, those links everyone has on their blog that nobody ever bothers to read. This series even has its own boring page now. But what I did the most work on the last two days was completely re-writing my Meet The Gang page (Since it was horrendously out of date, even with the occasional updates I made to it), and adding a Wiki page to list and explain some of the recurring gags in my comics! Feel free to check them out and let me know if there’s something I should add…
We’ll do this again next Wednesday when I may not have all the time in the world, but at least I’ll have my routines and mental calendar back…
I’m beginning to think a cat’s direct gaze can make a camera malfunction! It just happens too often to be coincidence. But even fuzzy or not looking at the camera, Bizkit looks adorable perched on your new pillow.
That’s possible, though hard to believe. My gaze has been known to break cameras, but I’m probably a lot uglier than Biskit…
I wish I could break cameras with my gaze so no photos of me show up anywhere! I’ve grown very unphotogenic in the past few years.
Biskit looks as happy as cats ever look. Only kittens allow the joy to shine through. After that, they are far too dignified 🙂 Greetings from cactus haven!
Biskit takes it to the extreme though. He always has that look like someone just took his favorite toy away from him. I’m not sure Sad Cat would be as popular as Grumpy Cat, though…
re Wiki page for critter President’s names. Hilary Kitten? Ronald Hump (camel) Tom Purrz (cat) or Buffalo Saunders? (Buffalo) 😀
Sounds like a fun group of write in candidates (I voted for Buster in 2012!)…
Aargh, that possum picture was not what I wanted to see this early in the morning 😦
Awwww, but he looks so cute with that bow on his head!
Yeah. Real cute.
My dogs would make those pillows theirs within two minutes. 😉
I can only imagine. Then Biskit would have to kick their butts!
Oh shit, that would be a sight to behold!!
As someone who lives to decorate my home I have to ask: why do you have a purposely mundane living room? Is that a thing now? Also, squirrel-themed pillows are meant to be cat sleeping platforms, so good job.
My living room is ironically named since I don’t do much living in there. Most of my waking hours at home are spent right here in my computer room… which is very well decorated with all of my art and treasures. There are a few treasures that had to spill over into the living room due to space constraints. Probably not many people have a squirrel sitting on top of their cable box…
Makes sense to me. Even the placement of a squirrel…
Biskit is just too cute.
I wish he didn’t waste so much of that cuteness hiding under the bed (Especially in those rare instances where other people come over and might want to see I actually have two cats and not just one)…
