Why is everyone staring at me?

Why is everyone staring at me?

sqturday squirrel logoWith not many great squirrel photo taking opportunities presenting themselves the past month or so, I’ve dug deep into my abundant archive of sciurine images to bring you this little cutie from the Summer of 2014.  He was trying to make it up the mangled chain link fence of what was a then-vacant house across the ditch from me… completely oblivious to the tantalizing squirrel junk show he was giving everyone within eyesight.  If I were him, I’d be more worried about catching something loose in the loops of one of those links than actually getting to the top of the fence…

Almost made it...

Cut it out, will you?  My mother reads this blog!

It’s not easy climbing to the top… but now that our Saturday Squirrel has made it in this world, hopefully he’ll be keeping things “under wraps,” if you know what I mean…

You're embarrassing me! I can't show my fuzzy little face in public again!

Well, I guess not every squirrel is capable of handling the bright lights and stardom that comes with being the Saturday Squirrel…

Have a great weekend everyone!  And don’t forget this Thursday is National Squirrel Appreciation Day!!!

I have to say, several interesting images came to mind when I read about you digging into your abundant archive. It’s just good that we can keep so many files on the computer. I can’t imagine how many rooms and file cabinets would be needed otherwise. 😉

    • My computer is already clogged up with so much other crap, I have to regularly dump my squirrel archive onto a memory stick. And I keep the whole thing on Photobucket, so I don’t have to dig up that memory stick when I want to go through it and post from it!

I’m glad you had to dig into your archives so we could see this cute little guy! (Not that I like looking at squirrel junk, but it is nice to know if a squirrel is a guy or a gal.) I love that last photo where his eyes are hidden behind the leaf. It’s so cute. How can they all be extra cute? You’d think we would get used to their adorable-ness after awhile.

Thanks for the heads up about squirrel appreciation day!

    • I must have realized the potential of the squirrel behind the weed to have saved it way back when… heck, I might have even already had the idea behind this post back then and just never used it since I had such a glut of pictures at the time. Unless we get some decent weather (or snow… snow squirrel pictures are always awesome), I’ll probably be doing a lot more diving into the archive this winter…

Cute fella, but now I have a nasty mental image of dangling from a fence by my unmentionables 😦

  5. I’ll be home by then. Maybe the squirrels will come out to greet us!

I’ll mark that on my calendar. Got a special post planned???

    • I doubt it. It’s hard to top SAD 2014 when I reviewed a bunch of commercials that featured squirrels. And since half of those videos have since been pulled from YouTube, the impact of that post just isn’t quite there anymore…

I wonder if the lower squirrel is named Adam?
