AAAAAAAHHHHH!!! It’s an alien!!!

sqturday squirrel logoOne of the inconvenient annoyances of squirrel photography is the fact that if you want to take pictures of them in their natural arboreal habitat, you have to put up with a lot of intervening twigs and leaves that are going to wreak havoc with your camera’s autofocus.  Just when you think you have the squirrel in your sights, you press the button and the camera decides on its own that you were obviously trying to capture the damn foliage instead and completely blurs out the intended subject.  Somewhere in that picture above, there’s a squirrel who was wanting to say hello to the world, and my camera just let him down!  Way to go, stupid camera!!!

Much better!

Much better!

For giving me a second chance to make things right, this photogenic little critter gets the honor of being this week’s Saturday Squirrel!

Stay focused, and have a great Memorial Day weekend everyone!

  1. it’s a squirrel-emperor it has a bay wreath :o)

  2. Welcome to MY world, where the trees rule and everything has to somehow fit between the branches. I praise in my heart every day whoever invented the super-zoom lens because without them, I couldn’t get anything except leaves and branches. In the winter, I at least stand half a chance. Almost none in the leafy months 🙂

  3. Happy Saturday to you too. 😀

  4. Here’s lookin’ at you kid!

Look at that perfect little face!

  6. What a sweetie. I could never take a picture like that. I struggle with up close amigurumis. LOL!

I’ve had this problem with autofocus too. I’m glad the cute little chap stuck around to give you time to fiddle with your focus!

    • I took about 7-8 pictures of him, and it was like flipping a coin whether the squirrel or the leaves were going to be what was in focus. Boy would I have been mad had I been wasting film in the old days!
