Geronimo!

Even out of focus squirrels are worthy of Saturday love.

Even out of focus squirrels are worthy of Saturday love.

sqturday squirrel logoEvery once in a while when I’m shooting action shots (When AREN’T squirrels being active?) of my backyard critters, I’ll get a blurry shot of the squirrel in mid jump that makes up for its lack of focus by looking kinda artsy and neat.  This is one of my favorites, since the squirrel is in a perfect arc, and it’s almost impossible to tell exactly where he is jumping from or even into.  The only clues are those renegade blades of grass that manage to obscure his front leg and nose… but it actually looks like he’s out over my ditch rather than in the grass behind it!

When I see the picture of this week’s Saturday Squirrel, it looks like he’s diving into the ditch, and all I can think of is one of the handful of extremely overplayed songs I hear about three to four times a week at Mecca….

Sorry for the surprise earworm, but try to have a great weekend regardless!

I’m giving you the like just for Geronimo, because I love that song! Although not quite as much as this one….

    • I should win some kind of award for just making it through 40 second of that before slamming the stop button. It’s like all of my Mom’s old Marky Mark posters just came to life and started shaking their ass…

I’ll take you’re word for it that it’s really a squirrel!

  4. I’m impressed! That’s some classy action. The little squirrel could show the international gymnasts something new!

    • I don’t think we’ll see gymnasts swinging through trees anytime soon like the more superior squirrels. I would watch the Squirrel Olympics, but I regularly pass on the human version…

That is worthy of some Saturday Squirrel love! I like that it captured the arc they move in that usually happens too fast to really see.

    • And apparently too fast for my camera to see as well. I can get a good leaping picture every once in a while, but every arcing shot of them looks like a semi-circular blur…

  6. Wow. Cuteness in action. Great squirrel shot!

I have to admit I love that song.

  7. That squirrel looks like he’s got a jet propulsion engine (or did he just finish a big bowl of chili???).

  8. I have photos like that of Shane doing Gymnastics. ps. We have Pokemon go and Shane caught a Merri Creek Pokemon. OMG! Australian Pokemon! I feel all warm and included. ❤
