Let’s face it… this summer sucks. The heat is bad enough, but with rain almost literally every other day since the start of July, it’s also been muggy as hell and just plain miserable… at least in my neck of the woods. I’m not a fan of the vastly overrated hot season anyway, so I’m more than ready for Fall to get here. Thankfully, we just passed the halfway mark of this dreadful Summer. Bring on the crisp, cool air… the shower of acorns falling from my oak tree… the leaves blanketing the ground and obscuring the fact that my grass needs to be cut again. Who out there wouldn’t like to jump in the middle of a leafpile like this week’s Saturday Squirrel is doing? I wonder if he knows Wilson?
Think cool thoughts and have a great weekend everyone!
I think a perpetual autumn would be lovely. But the specific time before the trees start changing colors. Just the right temp! 🙂
I’d take anything above freezing but below 90. And maybe rain once a week… the humidity can make any temperature seem horrible!
I will not argue with you. This summer has been awful. From the hideous creepy caterpillars, to the current LONG drought (send us your rain, please!) … and today, the air feels more like soup than air. All that humidity without a drop of rain. Yuck. What a disappointing season.
We’re close enough to the Gulf of Mexico that we can get that humid flow even when it doesn’t rain a lot. I’ll soak as much of it up in a sponge as I can and send it your way…
After the few super hot summers we had, I truly sympathize. I was hatin’ life last summer, for week after week after miserable week. Summer does indeed suck! And mixed with the kind of humidity you have there with all those rain showers….I can’t even imagine. I hope fall comes early for you! Even though our summer has been extremely pleasant so far (strangely, we had our really hot weather earlier in April and May), I’m still looking forward to that lovely chill in the air that comes with fall. Fall is the best!
I agree that Fall is the best, because 60 actually feels cool as opposed to Spring when the first 60 degree day seems overly warm.
Ah, the life of a care-free leaf-pile frolicking squirrel…
It must be nice… I should make him rake up the leaves to earn his keep.
Wilson!!
THE Wilson! Not some stupid ball… 😛
:p
Humid is horrible. I hope Autumn comes early. 😄
I just checked the calendar…. no such luck!
LOL! 😀
I love autumn too but over here it is perpetual summer. We just have hot and hotter and wet and wetter.
Perpetual summer is no better than perpetual winter. We had a hotter and wetter at the same time July and that is zero fun….
I couldn’t agree more! Everything about autumn and winter is better including the clothing, that cosy feeling you get when you come inside after being out in the cold, the starbucks cups and drinks menus, hats and scarves…..amazing! xx
I absolutely agree. Especially since I refuse to wear shorts or any kind of exposed foot shoes…
Absolutely! Boots and tights all the way! xx
My neighbourhood squirrels and other critters wonder if you could send some rain north. Haven’t had any in weeks and the humidity is in the low 40s. I was sure I’d melt 2 dress sizes off at Santa’s Village (no such luck)!
Well, so far we’ve had no rain this week at all, so I must have wished it somewhere. With my luck, it moved to the Sahara…
My parents took little guy camping with hopes of seeing the Perseid meteor showers…so it’s cloudy with a high risk of severe thunderstorms…murphy’s law!
Humid summers are utterly horrible for little fat girls with naturally curly hair.
couldn’t agree more!!!!!! Xx
It’s finally autumn now. 😀
