Is It Autumn Yet?

I wanna be like this squirrel.

I wanna be like this squirrel.

Let’s face it… this summer sucks.  The heat is bad enough, but with rain almost literally sqturday squirrel logoevery other day since the start of July, it’s also been muggy as hell and just plain miserable… at least in my neck of the woods.  I’m not a fan of the vastly overrated hot season anyway, so I’m more than ready for Fall to get here.  Thankfully, we just passed the halfway mark of this dreadful Summer.  Bring on the crisp, cool air… the shower of acorns falling from my oak tree… the leaves blanketing the ground and obscuring the fact that my grass needs to be cut again.  Who out there wouldn’t like to jump in the middle of a leafpile like this week’s Saturday Squirrel is doing?  I wonder if he knows Wilson?

Think cool thoughts and have a great weekend everyone!

I think a perpetual autumn would be lovely. But the specific time before the trees start changing colors. Just the right temp! 🙂

  2. I will not argue with you. This summer has been awful. From the hideous creepy caterpillars, to the current LONG drought (send us your rain, please!) … and today, the air feels more like soup than air. All that humidity without a drop of rain. Yuck. What a disappointing season.

    • We’re close enough to the Gulf of Mexico that we can get that humid flow even when it doesn’t rain a lot. I’ll soak as much of it up in a sponge as I can and send it your way…

After the few super hot summers we had, I truly sympathize. I was hatin’ life last summer, for week after week after miserable week. Summer does indeed suck! And mixed with the kind of humidity you have there with all those rain showers….I can’t even imagine. I hope fall comes early for you! Even though our summer has been extremely pleasant so far (strangely, we had our really hot weather earlier in April and May), I’m still looking forward to that lovely chill in the air that comes with fall. Fall is the best!

    Ah, the life of a care-free leaf-pile frolicking squirrel…

    Wilson!!

Humid is horrible. I hope Autumn comes early. 😄

  7. I love autumn too but over here it is perpetual summer. We just have hot and hotter and wet and wetter.

  8. I couldn’t agree more! Everything about autumn and winter is better including the clothing, that cosy feeling you get when you come inside after being out in the cold, the starbucks cups and drinks menus, hats and scarves…..amazing! xx

  9. My neighbourhood squirrels and other critters wonder if you could send some rain north. Haven’t had any in weeks and the humidity is in the low 40s. I was sure I’d melt 2 dress sizes off at Santa’s Village (no such luck)!

Humid summers are utterly horrible for little fat girls with naturally curly hair.

    couldn’t agree more!!!!!! Xx

  12. It’s finally autumn now. 😀
