How Much Is That Kitty In The Window?

It’s a cold, dark world out there, Biskit…

picture dayIt’s time for your weekly Wednesday dose of The Nest’s patented shitty photography with another episode of Picture Day.  Last week I promised you an interesting story, and it starts off with the photo above of my cat Biskit peering out my living room window.  I was in the computer room around the corner and could hear odd sounds which turned out to be my normally quiet and reserved black cat pawing and batting at the window like he was having a fight with his own reflection.  I wondered what could possibly have him so riled up…. the squirrels that are ever-present in my yard don’t seem to bother either of my cats one bit.

Something out there was getting on Biskit’s last nerve, though, and as it turns out…..

Would you stop it with all of that racket? I'm trying to get my beauty rest here!

Awwwwww, it was Pretty Kitty laying in my leaf-padded flowerbed outside the window trying to pay no-nevermind to the upset black ball of fluff that was trying to get at her through the glass!  While my big baby Ody seems to be afraid of our little calico wanderer, Biskit has yet to run away from her when she shows up at my door… and apparently isn’t going to back down from her at the window either.  Since this happened during the short period of time during the Spring when my pathetic daffodils were in bloom, I got some really cool pictures of PK posing with my flowers…

There's no need to hide that face, dear...

Don't mind me.... I'm just another flower.

This one might very well win the Pulitzer Prize for Shitty Photography.

And while there are no flowers in this one, I still think it’s neat enough to include…

Workin' it on the balance beam.

I’ll be back next week with more sights from outside The Nest’s window….

Ody would just like to let you all know he isn't a total pussy when it comes to cats in the window...

PK has the most beautiful eyes!!

  2. the kitty flower is sure beautiful :o) I love the last picture… it’s good for writing a howl-o-ween story :o)

  3. Cool photos……….I really like the one of PK posing as “just another flower” by the daffodils. Biskit is cute sitting there on his buns looking out the window. Ahhh….another day in paradise!

    • I just realized how big Biskit looks in that photo… in that he can even see out the window while parked on his buns. He seems so small, but that’s because I’m used to seeing him with Ody, who is quite large (although no longer FAT). And PK….. she is even smaller!

  4. Calicos are so pretty. She doesn’t look like a stray. She looks well fed and cared for. Indeed a very pretty lady cat, lovely amidst daffodils 🙂

    • It’s still up in the air whether she’s a stray, has a home, or maybe a bit of both (Like the cats me and my sisters took care of when we were little). She does have a collar now, though I still see her outside an awful lot. And I feed her every time she shows up at my door…

  5. PK really is PK and goes so well with daffodils. 😉

  6. My Ginger tends to mostly ignore what’s outside. She’ll sit in the window, but she never makes a peep. Chase will run from window to window trying to get at other cats. He’ll meow, too. He also lunges at birds through the glass.

    • I rarely see either of my cats try to interact with what’s outside, which is why this seemed so out of character. I leave that blind up just a bit year round so they have a window to the outside world, and there’s the kitchen window above the deep freeze where they’ve worn their own viewing hole into the blinds!

I like pretty kitty but I like your pretty black kitties too. Mine don’t do much but try to outstare outside cats. I think they feel sorry for them…. 😉

That is one seriously adorable cat. And those balancing skills are most impressive… 😀

I love the pic of PK walking along the rubber hose. I’m at the library right now and was noticing kids walking along a very short wall rather than on the sidewalk. It made me wonder why we do this as kids and now lo and behold the cat is doing the same thing,

    • I never really thought of that, but there must be some appeal to walking along “balance beam” type of objects. It reminds me of all the time I chased baseballs during batting practice in the bleachers of the old stadium 15-20 years ago where there were no backs to the bleacher seats…. often running laterally and from row to row without while trying to keep my eye on the ball! I don’t think I’d be as nimble now and would probably kill myself!

  12. OMG I just got toxic cute overload.
