And so history — our personal history and history at large — repeats itself. Good thing we don’t listen or learn. What fun would there be in that?
Somewhere, there should be a giant leaf pile for everyone to play in. It would make the world more fun…
*thinks of spidery, slimy, worming critters in there*
I pass …
To a lot of young boys, that would be extra enticement to jump in…
Then I am girlier than I thought … *undeniable female, but I never was a girly girl, just one of those best mate-ones*
I remember once collecting grasshoppers on my way home from school and keeping them in my lunchbox. I don’t have any explanation for WHY I did it other than it’s just one of those things boys do…
ody & biskit !!!! good one !!!! de food servizz gurl used ta due thiz…her gram paw wood rake de leevez inta a pile them…..bam ~~~~~~~ awesum time ☺☺☺♥♥♥
I remember those days as well! Now, I’d probably throw out my back and dislocate numerous bones if I tried to jump into a leaf pile!
Aw, little Nabob is SO cute! I would be happy to watch any of these cute critters frolicking in my yard. Human kids better stay the hell off my lawn though! 🙂
What could possibly be cuter than a little porkypine playing in a leaf pile and chomping on a cigar? The critters are always welcome to play in my yard with my large leaf pile… at least until Wilson comes along and wants some more for his nest!
I can remember playing in leaf piles as a kid with my brother……these days if I got into a leaf pile it would take a crane to get me upright again. My cat Sam LOVED to play in leaf piles as a kitten.
My cats don’t get to go outside, but the stray leaf does blow in the front door every once in a while, and both Ody & Biskit will get plenty of mileage out of playing with it like it’s some rodent intruder.
The dry leaves make a sound when cats push them on the floor too so that makes them even MORE interesting!
I love the leave-kini… my dad said that’s a good way to wear new clothes efurryday without stretching the wallet :O)
That’s all Adam and Eve needed was one leaf per private part. That’s a lot of money trimmed off the clothing budget, plus it’s eco friendly!
Have you been reading my journal my evil friend? I rumbled and rolled in the leaves yesterday at the Hotel Thompson in my magical backyard. Mom couldn’t even find me at one point. Too much fun! XOXO – Bacon
I think every critter on earth enjoys playing in piles of leaves. It’s one of our universal pleasures…
Wow, he really is old! They still had possum chilli, though. And he seems to have been enjoying cigars from a very young age… 🙂
Possum chileh dates back to the days of the cavecritter. And little Nabob must have been raised by Baby Herman’s mother (I hope you’ve seen “Roger Rabbit” to get that reference)…
I miss the days of raking leaves for the sole pleasure of jumping into the pile… 😀
I’d be too lazy to even rake them up even for that…. but after so many years of non-raking, nature’s made a nice pile of leaves on the side of my house (Or maybe it’s my neighbor blowing them all out of his yard?). I have yet to indulge in the pile, though…
