I made an impromptu trip to the park yesterday to do something I haven’t done much this year…. take more squirrel pictures! While the conditions weren’t quite ideal with the in-and-out sun as well as the mowers out in full force…. as usual, I got plenty of interesting fodder for future Saturday Squirrel posts nonetheless! Today’s picture is just here to whet your appetite… and I thought it would be a fitting photo for Memorial Day weekend.
When I took the picture, I was positive I was capturing a cute squirrel sitting next to some pretty white flowers that popped up near a tree.
When I uploaded the picture to my computer, I was positive I had captured a cute squirrel sitting next to some pretty white flowers that popped up near a tree.
When I brought it up again to create this post and took a better look at it……. um…..
OK, so it was just really bright reflections off the leaves of some wacky weed that caught my eye. I guess some people would prefer weed to flowers…
It’s still a pretty picture worthy of being this week’s Saturday Squirrel.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Don’t worry, the main thing, a squirrel, is cute, as they always are. Have a nice weekend!
Even without the “flowers” this was a more than worthy photo…
don’t be sad… as long as you get enough nuts you need no flowers ;O)
Who needs flowers when you have weed? And nuts…
I saw white flowers at first as well…so….great picture 🙂
It’s a weird optical illusion…. even more so since I didn’t notice they weren’t flowers while I was taking the picture!
He’s just waiting for that pesky photographer to move on so he can light up…
Poor thing…. I wasn’t trying to capture evidence!
I thought they were white flowers at first too. But my eyes often deceive me. I once saw a grim reaper figure out of the corner of my eye and it turned out to be a rack holding hanging baskets of pink flowers. Not even close!
That squirrel has an extra cute face. Something about its expression is just extra adorable.
You’re right about the extra cute face, and I just noticed he isn’t actually smiling, which is another bad assumption I made! This squirrel is even cute when he’s straight faced!
I always prefer weed to flowers…
Weed doesn’t make people sneeze….. well , except for Ringo.
A handsome young squirrel, recently graduated from Squirrel College. He is now facing his future and possible profession.
Most squirrels go into the highly rewarding career of nut gathering and burying. Some others become roadkill on the highway of life….
These things happen……..mistaking weeds for flowers can happen to anyone. There – did I make you feel better with my solicitous comment???????
Pam
Absolutely! I feel so much better already! In fact, I think I’m going to get a thicker pair of glasses and flush my camera down the toilet….
Gee….that’s the spirit!!!! 🙂
Remember, weeds are just perennials that were free. 🙂
Exactly! Plus, as someone once noted on my rant about the suburban ideal of lawn care, they are indigenous flora that should not be uprooted and replaced with transplants from the local Lowes!
I love squirrels to be with me anywhere i go 🙂
They definitely make the world a better place!
