As hot as it has been the last week or so, it’s hard to believe just five summers ago it was even hotter. A month and a half of daily highs in the 100’s may sound bad, but at least it was dry as a bone in 2012, so the air just baked you rather than suck the life right out of your body. 100 and muggy like we have right now is weather you can’t even breathe in…
And of course, that epic heat wave fried my brain so much that it inspired an early comic or two. This was lucky Comic #13…
Ol’ Winnie the flying squirrel never really caught on as a character. I think he was last seen as Sully and Wiki’s baseball coach…
I better don’t ask from where the bottled water comes ;o)
For $5 a pop, it better not be “lemonade!”
HA! Good old bottled water – gotta keep the plastic industry STRONG…..to heck with water in any other form – gotta have that “good stuff” !! Love this cartoon blast from the past.

It wasn’t that long ago (like, at Y2K time) when we didn’t even carry bottled water at Mecca! You could only buy water in the gallon jug if you were afraid to drink from the tap. How did so many people get brainwashed into the bottled water racket over the last decade!?!?!?
I don’t know how it happened but it’s amazing to walk thru a grocery store and go down an entire AISLE full of different bottled water……WATER for pete’s sake…….designer water? We are an amazingly gullible species……..LOL
Love it…’refreshing’ bottle water. Bwahaha
Very refreshing! It will clean out your system AND your wallet…
That’s some really fancy H20.
It came straight from Liberace’s bidet…
Fresh and clean with no caffeine!
Did Buster get the water from the well, the rain, or… or… somewhere else?
There are certainly plenty of people around who won’t drink water unless someone’s chucked it in a bottle first.
I could get a bunch of those bottles, fill them up in my sink, and make a fortune off gullible people! Hmmmm… I have hundreds of plastic soda bottles still sitting in my garage….
🙂
Didn’t you know? It’s not “real” water unless you buy it in a bottle! Ask anyone 😀
I’m going to bottle tap water and make a fortune selling it for $2 a pop. Want to invest in my enterprise?
