Y is for Yesterday, as in the day this was supposed to be posted. But y’all know what a slacker I can be, so you’ll have to do with this day-late edition of my Photography A to Z challenge! I have a feeling Y is going to be a sneaky hard letter to find good photos for, so while I try to find a few ways to cheat on this one, Y don’t you read the challenge’s now-famous rules yet again, yo?
- Only photos I took myself will be used.
- All photos used will have been taken without any thought given to this challenge.

That yak is really cute. Here is one y word for you, yö, yes yö, it is a Finnish word meaning a night. I don´t try to tell how to pronounce that word, it is impossible for you.
It’s funny how each language seems to have its own sounds that non-native speakers can’t handle. I know there are some places who have trouble with our L and R sounds…

I don’t follow baseball but I recognized the name Betancourt. He must have played for Seattle, which would make sense if he was terrible. I love the yak and the squirrel in the Y of the tree. That little face is so cute! It looks to me like its front legs are curled in the way cats sit sometimes. I’m probably just seeing things though. My vision is really distorted from another damned migraine. So don’t judge me if this doesn’t make any sense!
Yuniesky did indeed come up with the Mariners, so your memory of terrible players is dead on! I think you hit upon what I like about that squirrel picture…. it does look like he’s sitting like a cat! I think the look of the “paws” is an illusion, but that’s the beauty of photos is that the precise moment and viewpoint they capture can tell a completely unexpected story… like my squirrel who seemed upset he had so high to climb in the tree last Saturday.
I’m glad it wasn’t just my waning eyesight or overactive imagination that made me think the squirrel looked like it was sitting like a cat!
