After a dreary start to the month of November, Thursday morning was an absolutely gorgeous autumn day. I made sure not to waste it by taking my camera to the park for some exercise and squirrel shooting (Not THAT kind of shooting!). While it may be slightly past the peak for colorful fall foliage, the scenery surrounding the critters I was seeking was still popping with reds, yellows, oranges, and even browns and greens. You’ll probably see a lot of that color in the next few months’ worth of Saturday Squirrel photos I post… especially since a lot of my better pictures were of squirrels in the trees…. or climbing them like this week’s featured sciurine.
Have a very wonderful and colorful weekend everyone! And a squirrely Happy Veterans Day to all who served out there!
‘Tis the season for squirrels that’s for sure………..yesterday I was looking out the front windows and counted no less than TEN of the little buggers chasing each other on the trees, snuffling through the front yard leaves for nuts and otherwise just enjoying the day. We have “acorns a plenty” so they sure won’t be sorry they visited the squirrel grocery store yesterday and loaded up their carts (and mouths!).

Wow! I’m not sure I’ve seen that many at one time before, but I’ve gotten six in the same photo once. If I had that many squirrels around to entertain me, there’d be no limit to the great Saturday Squirrel pictures I could take!
I of course never have a camera handy when I see stuff like that many squirrels at one time…..but they were busy little guys that’s for sure!
He’s looking straight at you, how cool!
I get a lot of weird looks from squirrels like that. I can’t imagine what they’re thinking of me, or the vulgarity they wish they could express….
It’s squirrel season!
Shhhhhh!!!! Too many hunters lurking about this time of the year!
Cute squirrel with attitude. Great pic.
Everyone loves a squirrel with attitude….
Wow, your autumnal colors are really beautiful! One thing about autumn along the Front Range, we do golds great, reds not so much so it’s a real treat when I can see others sharing them. Have a wonderful weekend.
Our park has enough arboreal variety to have a little of just about every color… except blue. Why can’t there be any trees with blue or purple leaves?
😁
Our leaves went away overnight this week. It’s nice you still have some autumn left and that is a very handsome young squirrel.
Autumn seems to really straggle around here. There’s no real color peak, nor a specific time when they all fall down…. every tree seems to bide by its own schedule, and it’s usually a lingering process from mid October through the end of November….
Awww, what a cutie! The green leaves on that one tree with the red on the other make me think of September. Our autumn color is more colorful and is hanging on longer than normal but it still seems like dark, wet, dreary November here. And the leaves will probably be gone after today. A high wind warning alert just popped up on my tablet. Oh well, this is the cutest time of year in the squirrel department. They are so fat and fluffy right now!
The trees never peak around here at the same time. One tree’s still green, while the one next to it has already dropped all its leaves. Among the many reasons my locale is not a popular tourist destination!
