S Is For Squirrel

Go Go Gadget Neck!

The photo above is real and unaltered, though it certainly looks like numerous laws of basic anatomy and physics must be getting violated in it.  This squirrel has turned his body into a furry pretzel that seems to defy logic.  How did he twist his torso around 180 degrees to be looking directly over his tail?  Is this squirrel a natural contortionist that would make a noteworthy sideshow along with the acrobatics of the sciurine circus?

Or maybe he is just trying to remind everyone that today’s Saturday Squirrel post is being brought to you by the letter S… which is the shape his body is taking from the top of his head to the tip of his tail.  Let’s hear it for this living twist-tie who is impossible to sneak up on…

Have a twisted weekend everyone!

I love watching the acrobatic and anatomically defying antics of my squirrels!

  2. What a beautiful little squirrel.

  3. They are quite amazing really – I think that “contortionistic” little body of theirs helps them when they have falls from high limbs – they can twist around and get the BEST position for landing purposes……Like cats! LOL

I can’t even exactly work out which bit normally goes where…

  5. Seriously agile squirrel!

    • I don’t even like bending over anymore, and this squirrel’s spine can do a 180. It’s too bad the human spine didn’t get the message that it’s supposed to work properly for about a century…

  6. Holy cow! Just seeing that contortion image makes me want to look for the BenGay. Happy weekend. Hope you have survived Black Friday, Saturday, week…oh you get the idea.

  7. Yet another squirrel superpower…
