Tiptoe Through The Violets

I hope this isn’t really poison ivy. Nobody has time for itchy nuts…

I don’t know what those purple colored blooms on those plants actually are… I’m a squirrel lover, not a botanist.  But I caught this squirrel making a trek through the gardens of our local park last Spring, and thought maybe it would give you all something to dream on as we wait out this final six weeks of winter.  Actually, come to think of it, that tall grass in the background is actually going to give me nightmares since I haven’t had to break out the lawn mower since late August, and don’t look forward to that tedious summer chore with my big yard…

Oh well, for now I’ll just collect my happies taking in this nature loving Saturday Squirrel…

Have a great weekend everyone!

Cute photo. Gray squirrels look pretty juxtaposed beside purple flowers. Very arty!

What a happy chappy, frolicking along the lane.

Not sure those are violets – we have them here in the middle of our ground cover. But they are pretty!

    • I looked up what violets were before I wrote this up, and agree that’s probably not what they were… but didn’t know what else to call purple flowers. About the only thing I can recognize is a dandelion…

That photo is a beautiful sight to my color and nature-deprived eyes! Grass and flowers – I’d forgotten how beautiful a backdrop they make for squirrels. It’s been an incredibly ugly winter here.

This morning I saw Chip (my current favorite squirrel) hugging another squirrel and fleaing her neck. I was like “aw, that’s so sweet!” But then Chip jumped on that squirrel and humped her, right there, two feet away from my back door. Then he took the last peanut and ran off!

    • Well, at least it wasn’t wham, bam, thank you ma’am! Chip does like a little foreplay. He’ll pay for that in a few months if it was only a ruse to get the last peanut from his sweetie!

  5. Ditto on not recognizing the purple flowers but as long as the squirrel is loving them that’s fine – purrrhaps he’s making a little free bouquet for his ladysquirrel-love?

  6. Pretty purply flowers and grass. Yes, warm. I feel like taking a long nap and waking up on October.

  7. Here’s hoping the last 6 weeks of winter go quickly. Great pic by the way-color like that in winter is always welcome.
