Just another morning at The Nest’s Roadside Diner

May as well have a seat and try what’s on the menu, Sewie.

Monsieur Sewie gives the food three and a half stars. But the clientele….
Well, our little princess seems to get along fine with Sewie, if not my own cats. I wonder if Gypsy would stick as a name…
This mostly wordless Picture Day post is brought to you by Friskies, the only cat food cheap enough to be served on the finest porches in America…

Gypsy is a mighty fine name… and we love your restaurant ;O)))
We serve all four legged kinds, including dogs, squirrels, possums, skunks, etc. Given the limited room, you may have to share a table with another guest, though…
Happy to see you restaurant for cats. Snowwhite, with some yellow and brown, looks fine, maybe she has a home and just wants to visit you sometimes and extra food is always so tasty.
After disappearing for about two weeks, she resurfaced last week and has been hanging around my yard both morning and evening. I believe she is a true gypsy, and right now I am where she is camping out…
She likes you!
I like the name Gypsy……and have always liked “Sewie” for your other visitor. I think these two are fine besties too – they know the finest (and cheapest) joint in town is “Squirrels Nest Diner” …..glad you are an equal opportunity feeder location – we are too – had one of our “frequent diners” here this morning in fact.
Hugs, Pam and Teddy too
I discovered just this morning that Sewie and Gypsy have quite a bit of work to do to get to BFF status. She hisses at him too.. or at least hisses in general when he’s around and I’ve got food in my hand. Sewie will not eat at all until I move the can far enough away from Gypsy for his comfort level. She apparently plays very, VERY hard to get…
At least Sewie is smart enough to recognize “distance is required” and sensitive enough not to press the issue. Sewie is a modern man I guess.

I’m sure they love the free meal, though I must complain that they don’t tip very well…
I like the name Gypsy and am enchanted by her lovely brown tail!
I’ve sorted through so many names, and that one finally seems to fit! And I didn’t think of it until I decided to title this post after the Cher song…
I’d call her Gypsy Rose because she is a bit of showstopper.
A showstopper, and a real primadonna. Or maybe she just hates toms, since my cats and Sewie all get hissed at by her. But she’s got spunk, and unlike Lou Grant, I like spunk…
Little Gypsy does have a certain Cher flavor to her. Love her tail.
It is pretty! Hopefully, unlike Cher, she won’t get any unnecessary work done on it…
Or do a 15 year farewell tour. 😆
Shouldn’t you serve Spaghetti with meatballs for those two?
That would be perfect if Gypsy weren’t so difficult with the men. Sewie would get the hissing of his life if they accidentally started slurping up opposite ends of the same noodle…
We, too, served all kinds for a while – until the coyotes! I loved your last line about the Friskies!
I will have to secretly replace their Friskies with Folgers crystals to see if they can tell the difference…
I would probably feed the coyotes if they came to my door as well, but that would be very bad…
Awww love those kitties! We had a friend who had a cat named Gypsy, but she looked like Sewie! Good name. We tend to name the kitty gang that we feed outside, too. They never miss a meal. 🙂
These two haven’t been missing many meals lately. In fact, they may be getting fed better than my own cats…
I was like aw, how sweet during this entire post, you kick ass feeding these cats.
Sniff.
I think Gypsy is a fine name!
My sisters will vouch for how mean I was to our cats when I was a kid (Though I did secretly like them). I guess this is my atonement…
Yes, atone with the help from Tender Vittles…
They are beautiful cats, both of them. Obviously the Friskies are doing their job.
Gypsy is thin as a rail (But then again, so is my Biskit, and he has access to plenty of food)… but I’m pretty sure I’m her only reliable source for something to eat. Sewie should look good because he does have a home, he just likes to use his cuteness to bum a free meal off of me…
You had me singing Cher when I saw the name of your post! 🙂 Gypsy is a great name, she looks just like my last cat Banditt, only Banditt had two coal coloured triangles over her eyes with the grey tail! Beauty! You know, your stuck feeding them forever now?? They’ll never go home!
I’ve had the Cher song on the brain since I wrote this post too… but it’s a good earworm. Gypsy seems to have settled in at my kitchen, but Sewie kinda comes and goes depending on when he’s let outside by his owners. I guess if they eat all of my cats’ food, Ody and Biskit will just have to starve….
You have such beautiful guests in your diner! And how kind of you to feed them canned food. My poor Trouble isn’t getting that kind of treatment often these days.
I could dump the dry stuff out there, but Sewie seems to turn his nose up to it, and Gypsy just seems like one of those starving kids in Africa, so I let them have the good stuff! I’ve just got to remember to actually go out and pick up the cans every once in a while before the mailman steps on one and breaks his neck…
In the first picture the second bowl is over the other side. Did Sewie drag it over there to get away from the other cat?
Good observation! I had to drag it over to the other side to get him to eat it. Though they’ll both show up together, neither cat seems to like the other one and would prefer to eat in privacy. Gypsy was hissing up a storm over Sewie while I was trying to feed them this morning…
What pretty kitties. How sweet of you to watch out after them.
Friskies is the only dry food my cat will eat. They also prefer (and don’t barf up) Friskies wet food. My cats always live to extreme old age too.
Ody will barf up anything that has substance to it if he has a bad enough hairball. I need to remember to close the bedroom door after I feed them……
Happy birthday ES.
Well, that’s a good name for her. And the song will be even more appropriate if she turns up on your doorstep knocked up…!
LOL! In that case, I’d promise not to shoot the father should he shows up as well…
