Not the most exciting photo in the world, is it? But there’s a reason I included it in this countdown… and that’s because I snapped it as a tribute to a beloved picture I took with my old 35mm camera on a trip to Chicago we made in 1989. That photo, which I haven’t seen in years and have no idea if it even exists anymore, was taken from a pedestrian bridge over one of the Chicago interstates near the Lincoln Park Zoo, and I thought the view of cars traveling up and down the highway from the overpass was pretty neat. The view in the photo above is of traffic on Interstate 44 from one of the windows at the World’s Largest McDonald’s in Vinita, Oklahoma… which is a restaurant in an overpass. There will be another photo from this location later in the countdown…
Oh I remember that McDonald’s photo of yours that you mention…..quite a spectacular location I thought. Makes for a most memorable burger & fries experience!

LOL, keep that thought in mind when that picture finally rolls around!
Look, they’re all driving on the wrong side of the road. It’s a wonder there aren’t more accidents.
Well, it’s not our fault the steering wheels all got put on the wrong side of the car….
Visually seductive vertical lines.
I love these kind of road shots because they show what it looks like on the road in other places. I’ve been to embarrassingly few states and I’m so curious to see what it’s like in other places, but at the same time I hate both driving and riding in cars so I don’t go on long road trips. (Don’t judge my punctuation, I’m really tired and can’t figure out where those pesky commas should go!)
