Falling snow is not as easy to photograph as it might seem at first. It helps when the snowflakes are big and sloppy. A dark background to enhance the white flakes can’t hurt either. This look out at my street on a cold and snowy night is probably the best “winter in action” picture in my archive. You can already see how much snow has piled up by looking at the layer of “icing” on those two cars. I was also unaware of the timing of this post when I was ordering the photos for this countdown… so let this be a very odd photo to welcome you to the first day of Summer!
that is a super photo for celebrating the start of summer… you inspired me I look for winterboots now ;O)
The winter fashions should be in all of the stores now, along with the Christmas decorations…
and the gingerbread ;O)
Cool photo. I like your timing with it. It’s hotter than hades here today, so looking at pretty snowflakes is delightful.
We just got out of the hot and muggy pattern (At the cost of anytime, any day pop up storms), so that would’ve looked real good a few days ago. And it was snowing just two short months ago…. may as well have been years ago.
ody N biskit; we will keep thiz in mind az next weekz bak ta hotter N hell again they say !! 🙂 ♥♥
Just come back and look at the snow anytime you need to cool off…
The snow flakes are are difficult, but have succeeded in this photo, and all the cars look like Lamborghinis.
LOL, I can assure you neither car is anything close to a Lamborghini. The front car is a halfway decent Chevy, while the back car is a pile of junk…
Brr. I finally got snowflakes this year, it’s rare that they’re big enough here.
It’s been a while since we’ve had a snow like that. After seeing my backyard flooded again due to all the rain yesterday, I’ll gladly take the snow and colder temps right now…
You are truly a twisted, evil genius!
An accidental genius. A little snow in the summertime would be nice, though…
No, not ever!!!!!!
That’s an excellent snow photo…….big snowflakes help with photographing them properly but so does night and light. Well done….it’s hot as heck here today and the snow gave me something to think about other than humidity and ick.
Pam
I realized how much the flash helped show off the flakes as well, and miss that the camera I took that photo with has all but bitten the dust due to a non-charging battery. You can’t do snowflakes or eye lasers without that flash…
I like that one! But then I’m a cold weather girl. I love snow except for driving in it.
It just wouldn’t seem like winter without a snowstorm of two. And it just hasn’t been winter the last two years….
As the temperatures start inching their way toward the 90’s again, this terrific photo is even more welcome. And there’s no shoveling involved! Thanks for the cool-down.
I welcome the snow. I look forward to winter.
