My Captive Audience

How is this for my attempt at fake enthusiasm?

Two weeks in, and as I expected, my Top 200 Photo countdown has pretty much taken over my blog… with me not posting a whole lot else other than the daily entry.  Though I blame Thursday night’s terrible storm and subsequent evening-long power outage for short circuiting any attempt to put together a Shelf Critter Theatre episode.  Nope, not much else to see here but my favorite old photos I’m honoring… though that’s seems perfectly alright for this squirrel who appears to be very much enjoying what he’s looking at from behind that tree.  Well, maybe he’s wondering why HE isn’t in the countdown despite looking so cute.  Sorry, dude, you got overlooked… but I hope you’ll settle for a Saturday Squirrel nod instead.

Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. It is a proper Saturday squirrel.
Do you have there flying squirrels, we have, they look like a flying mitten.

This little squirrel is very photogenic and happy to be posing for you. He knows he’s cute! Happy Saturday! 🙂

  4. That’s one handsome dude (or dudette?) of a squirrel. Saw a guy with a camera and decided to pose properly for him perhaps?

He looks awfully familiar, are you sure we haven’t seen him before? Very cute, in any case.

    • Well, so many squirrels look alike. He does look a bit similar to another very chipper squirrel I’ve photographed before, and who we will see again towards the end of the year…

  6. Trisha says:

Awww, what a cutie! The squirrels here have completely lost their winter coats and are looking much less cute than this little guy. Of course, it doesn’t help that when I see them they are usually in the act of stealing our strawberries or raiding the cherry tree. 🤬

  7. Pictures are what I do when my brain just has nothing to work with. I take a lot of them at a time and when I start to run on empty, out they come. And the good thing is, we LOVE pictures. Run with it and one day, you’ll feel something else.
