Ever go out for a walk in your neighborhood and run into something highly unusual along the way? Like…… oh, say someone’s old toilet they just threw out by the curb? Well, that happened to me once, and I made sure to archive the occasion with this photo. Now, people throw all kinds of strange junk out of their homes all the time… so it really isn’t all that remarkable to have to walk by a stray commode on the sidewalk. But it’s the timing of stumbling upon this former throne that turns it from just another discarded piece of porcelain into something hilariously symbolic. That’s because it happened to be Election Day morning, and I was walking to my polling place when I passed this perfect representation of American politics. I only wished it still flushed, but alas….
hahahahaha
I love life’s little signs…
I bet it makes a very nice planter……..
Pam
And you wouldn’t have to buy fertilizer!
Makes you wonder, doesn’t it.
From your title (before I saw the toilet photo) I was imagining a quite different post — namely, the ‘good stuff’ 🙂 haha
If I could get a picture of someone growing pot out of a toilet, that would be one of my crown jewels!
They make pretty good planters, you know. Growing flowers in an old john is very cool.
I’ve seen such porcelain planters before… and I guess whoever threw this toilet out didn’t see the repurposing potential of it. There’s no better place to put plants if you want them constantly watered and fertilized…
I do hope a bunch of drunk people didn’t get confused and used it as they staggered past during the night.
I could see non-drunk jokesters using it for its true purpose while it sat out there. I’m sure the garbage man would be pleased with a present like that…
Ooh! That would be a fun find on my walks with The Bigly Bestest. I’m sure he wouldn’t miss an opportunity to lift a leg to it like it’s the best thing since fire hydrants. 😛
Maybe I can get the neighbor to paint it red or yellow or “artsy” like many of the hydrants around here now look. May as well use it for what it was intended for…
I don’t think there’s a plumber around who can ‘fix’ the current plumbing problems going on these days. Love the ‘can’ shot. One of my neighbors decided to plant petunias in their discarded pot. {shaking head} City people! 😲
Accurate metaphor… 😉
We occasionally come upon an abandoned TV or sofa down by the power lines but never a toilet. It’s definitely the perfect symbol for the state of politics and a lot of other things here in the US. Maybe you should hang onto that photo and we can have it printed on to a new, more befitting flag!
If the Ty D Bol man runs for President the next time around, I will definitely be voting for him!
I’d forgotten all about the Ty D Bol man! He’s just the guy we need to get the country cleaned up! He needs a different vehicle to get him to all the poo 💩 though. That little boat of his isn’t going to get him to the Mecca parking lots, the sidewalks of San Francisco or up under the freeway in Seattle.
