If you enjoy watching squirrels and their antics, I highly recommend that at some point you buy one of those corn blocks that hang from a bungee cord. You will have so much fun watching them figure out how to get to the giant bonanza of treats, and they will continue to entertain you until the feast is all gone. Good to the last kernel. This upside down squirrel is having quite a blast hanging from a “tree” full of yummy food. You’ll see this corn block again later in the countdown……. MUCH later, as it provided for so many great photo opportunities…
I couldn’t eat in this position… seems squirrels are the higher species ;O)
Squirrels do a lot of their eating upside down. It keeps them from having to eat with their feet!
Those things really are fun to watch…..I’m sure I wouldn’t want to eat upside down but these guys don’t care what kind of gymnastics they must perform to get the goodies!
Pam
It took them a week to figure out how to get to corn, which is kind of sad by squirrel standards! They’ll go through hell to get to a strategically placed birdfeeder, but seemed to expect the corn block would eventually just come to them!
Love this photo. Made me chuckle. Squirrels be funny sometimes.
They are nature’s comedians… among their long list of nature titles.
So cute! I will have to get one of those blocks this fall. I am trying to figure out ways to lure the squirrels back to my yard. Gary really has them chased off. They come around to eat all my strawberries but I don’t see much of them.
Well, at least they don’t come inside and steal your peanuts anymore. But a corn block might be a nice way to bring them back. They can hang upside down and throw kernels at Gary…
LOL! I would love to see them throw kernels at Gary!
When you say “bungee cord” is it actually elasticated? ‘Cos it should be. That would be fun to watch.
Yes! The actual bungee part was cut out of the photo… but yes, that’s what it is attached to. And also why I had to hang it up too high for them to reach from the ground, otherwise they’d take a bounce off the ground when they jumped it…
A bounce off the ground, that’s what we’re looking for. Great TV!
Looks like the Golden Corral equivalent for squirrels. I don’t think I’d be very successful as a squirrel. Eating upside down would give me a headache. 🙃
It’s OK… squirrels probably look at us and think they wouldn’t be very successful as a human. It would explain the weird looks they give me…
ha – so excited!
It’s all his!
