#134 – Early In The Morning

Photo taken: December 10, 2015

No photo countdown would be complete without a cool looking sunrise or sunset photo.  Unfortunately, I don’t have one (at least that I’ve personally taken) that is really awe inspiring.  The view itself with the naked eyes may be fantastic, but the camera doesn’t always capture it quite as well.  It also doesn’t help that I can’t see a true horizon anywhere near my house.  One thing’s for certain, outside of late evening summer storms…. there is nothing quite like early winter when it comes to producing some really fiery looking sky.  The view when I leave work at Mecca at sunrise in December and January is usually amazing… I just don’t have a camera with me to bring that view home.  So, please, make due with this OK looking sunrise I took on a December morn three years ago…

  1. love it!!!… what is that on the left? it looks a little like a doll? … maybe it was too impressed to see this beautiful sky?

    • Those are a couple of those Christmas inflatable characters that look like roadkill when all of the air is out of them. Apparently they are really Halloween vampires and melted when the sun came up…

  2. Oh I think it’s a great sunrise – and you can see that magical “pink” that covers everything some mornings when we have a colorful sunrise. The other thing about early morning photos is that everything looks so QUIET.

It looks pretty spectacular! I’ve noticed that as well, though. By the time my photo goes up on Instagram it doesn’t look nearly as good.

  4. Beautiful color! With the entire West being on fire, smoke in the atmosphere tends to make for some remarkable sunrises and sunsets. 🌞

It’s beautiful. I love the look of the silhouette of the barren tree branches against the colors of the sunrise. With my house being almost entirely surrounded by evergreens, it’s something I don’t get to see too often.

    • There’s an evergreen in one of my neighbor’s backyards (The squirrels like to bring the pine cones over to mine), but that’s pretty much it. The rest of the trees in my hood are deciduous (I think that’s the right word, and no red underline means I may have even spelled it right!)

  6. this is a really nice capture; anytime I’ve ever tried taking sun set//sunrise… I get… much mess 🙂 ~~ ♥

  7. I can only catch the sunrise in March before the leaves come out on the trees. Not at all in the summer because the trees block everything. But sometimes, when we travel, we get a good one. I always keep a pocket camera in my bag. ALWAYS. It’s a thing.

    • I don’t carry a bag, and don’t really like carrying anything I don’t have to (Which is why I often don’t even carry a cellphone). There are many, many times, though, I wish I had a camera with me to take a picture of something…

  8. It is beautiful, so soft colors.

I love stunning sunrises and sunsets. It’s hard for any photograph to ever do them justice!
