Dogs have nothing on squirrels when it comes to digging up the yard. Between burying and unburying nuts, and creating numerous decoy holes in an attempt to keep their stash a secret, they will frustrate the typical suburban homeowner who cares entirely too much about how their lawn looks. But this squirrel wasn’t digging in the yard…. no sir, not him! Ignore that look of feigned innocence on his face, and all of that evidence of caked on dirt on his paws and under his nose. I hope he knows a good attorney… or at least one who can find a jury who will be persuaded by his absolutely adorable “not guilty” look.
if they would bury coconuts in my lawn I would get angry too… LOL
It might take a long time for a squirrel to bury a coconut. Burying the bodies of its victims may be easier for them…
I love when they sit up like that – looks a lot like a prairie dog!

It does! Maybe he thinks that will get him off the hook…
Cutie, and innocent for sure. Our old oak is now full of acorns, hopefully we will have a squirrel party like some years ago, about eight squirrels vey running up and down.
Wild squirrels partying and throwing acorns everywhere. I’ve heard a few hit the roof lately, so I may get that same party…
Keep your camera ready! No squirrels here yet.
He looks the very epitome of innocence, but when it comes to little holes it’s always the squirrels. Or the bunnies.
It may just be the dwarf mafia burying its victims…
All animals are innocent. I just asked the dogs about the holes in the yard and they assured us the squirrels did it.
And the squirrels are no doubt pointing the finger at the dogs. We’ll need the forensics team to figure out whodunnit…
As a potential juror, I see no remorse in that face and therefore vote to find the defendant guilty as charged. For whatever crime. I’m sure he did it and with great relish. He’s a squirrel after all. 🐿
Hmmmmm, I guess I’ll have to work on getting him a pardon.
Shouldn’t be too difficult these days.
