Now that I think about it, that title seems a tad gruesome. But there’s nothing awful about this photo of The Nest’s current unofficial outside kitty Gypsy perched on the tire of my neighbor’s truck. This photo is one of two “anachronisms” I’ve worked into the countdown since I started this feature on June 15th, and there really shouldn’t be anything dated later than that in here. But would you leave this pretty picture out and not try to find a weaker entry to give the boot to? Of course you wouldn’t. Five months after she surfaced (and apparently belonging to the neighbors two houses down from me as a child’s pet), Gypsy still visits my door almost every morning for food… which just shows you how well she’s being taken care of. She’s lucky to live near a complete pushover like me…
with Esso you have a tiger in your tank and with wrangler a white tiger in your wheels ;O)
LOL! As long as the claws only come out in the snow for traction…
Adorable cat! Nice photo!
She is lucky to live by a pushover like you. I would be doing the same.
The cats are so cute, how can you not?!
Apparently the people who let their kid “have” the cat can not…
She is lucky……and you are so good to feed her – obviously she’s making her way with the help of the neighborhood like so many cats do. She is beautiful……I like that “sideways” look in her eyes and that hint of a smile.
Pam
She’s giving me that look like “Seriously? Another picture? I just want to be left alone!”
HA! That IS what it looks like she’s doing!
Gypsy is looking great! She and Katniss are very lucky to have suckers like us living close to them. Why do people get pets for their children – it should be a family member.
Because some parents are usually too wrapped up in the world of their child to care about anyone else… as long as their kid is happy.
Aww, she looks so cute there! I love the expression on her face. She is lucky to live near you. Most people wouldn’t break out the canned cat food for visitors!
I didn’t give the canned food too often for Pretty Kitty or Sewie (Along with my discovery about Gypsy, I also found out PK was her predecessor as the uncared for child’s cat… and that there’s a tragic reason she no longer shows up at my door). Gypsy showed up hungry from day one and got the good stuff…
That’s a relief. I feared the worst when I read your title and I see you also had the same hideous thought.
I had some regret as soon as I typed the title, but couldn’t think of anything better…
Hope everyone checks under their vehicles, especially in the winter. Streetwalker Gypsy is way too pretty to be literally hitting the rubber.
She’s terrible at moving to avoid cars. As soon as she heard my garage door opening, she bolts to my driveway… usually walking right in front of me as I’m trying to drive in, and I can’t see her at all to tell if she’s moved.
Eek! Does she move when you beep your horn?
My horn is one of those tooters that draws more laughs than looks of attention. I know that if I still had the old beater without a backup camera (and if she didn’t have a bright white coat) that I’d have probably already smooshed her. One night leaving for work, she got behind me and flat out refused to move…
A sassy cat deserves the food you put out for her. 😸
There are cats (and dogs) that figure it’s always worth a try. Maybe you’ll get a piece of chicken. It’s not like they have something more interesting to do 🙂
I have put out chicken for her, and she seemed to turn her nose up at it…. which I’ve NEVER seen a cat not like chicken. She may think she deserves filet mingon or some delicacy that has never been in my kitchen…
She’s a beauty! She seems to have wonky eyes or one eye is wonky… Or is that my eye’s seeing cross eyed?? lol
It may be your eyes! It looks weird, because she appears to be rolling her eyes in a “whatever” pose. She has pretty blue eyes, though…. not that I ever noticed until someone else pointed it out to me (Eye color is not something I pay attention to…. even in animals apparently!)
Gypsy is so pretty!
Why do cats like getting under cars? They do that here, too. We always bang on the hood and sides of the truck to make sure any that were there, gets out before we start up. (sadly there have been a couple of unfortunate incidents)
Tomorrow, though, all the cats including Cricket, will be in for a not good surprise. My daughter & family will be in town from MO and bringing their 2 large dogs. Uh oh! We’ll manage…we’ve done it before, and the cats lay low for a few days.
