Capturing lighting on film (or digital “film”) exactly as our eyes see it is a nearly impossible task. Dark scenes may appear too light, and lighted views seem too dark. This passing storm made it very dark outside, as will happen numerous times a year almost anywhere in the stormy Midwest. The clearing just over the house at the end of the street gives some contrast to how dark the low hanging clouds at the front of this storm were making things. Not even my flash is enough to brighten up the neighborhood… though it did light up the raindrops falling in my front yard, and even gave the laser eye effect to the front and rear lights on my neighbor’s daughter’s car! The flash also gave a somewhat hyper-realistic look to the branches overhanging the foreground…
it looks alittle like the landing of visitors from Melmac ;O))
It’s like, the end of the world or something.
Well, with the way the cats act, it probably is…
Interesting photo in a bunch of ways….capturing raindrops isn’t easy to do – and the light on the leaves is cool. The VERY sharp contrast in the sky back where the storm is clearing is something that’s always weird to see isn’t it.

Yeah, those really dark low clouds that precede a storm can give off some very weird effects. And a reminder that it’s still sunny somewhere…
That’s creepy the way the sky looks kind of green.
