How funny, I was just thinking about ol’ George and his Destroyers last night when they came up as a suggestion on YouTube. I get in the mood to listen to them every once in awhile. I never get in the mood for drinking but, if I did, alone would be the way to do it because listening to drunk people annoys the hell out of me!
I have to deal with too many drunk people at Mecca at night, and the booze on their breath isn’t the only thing about them that’s annoying. Most of my family are not fun to be around even when they’re just tipsy. All the more justification for me being a teetotaler..

We need a genre of music titled “Special songs for drunks.” I’m pretty sure it would be a very popular genre. But everyone would listen alone.
If there were a bunch of drinking songs in there, I would certainly hope they’d only listen alone… because I wouldn’t want to be annoyed.
I don’t like this one, sorry. His other song, the John Lee Hooker original, One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer, is the only song I like by George Thorogood.
The classic rock station here likes to play that one along with (I think it’s called) “Rent Money Boogie,” which I find hilarious. I like pretty much every song of his I’m aware of, and I’m not really a fan of blues or blues rock…
Hmm, Rent Money Boogie does sound good. Maybe I’ve done ole George wrong. We do have a few of his albums since my husband likes him a lot.
