#112 – Ninety-Nine Bottles Of Beer

Photo taken: August 24, 2016

Cardinals fans like to bastardize an old saying by proudly claiming that St. Louis is a drinking town with a baseball problem.  We’re home to one of the largest breweries in America, and people here generally do love their beer.  So much so that they will pay exorbitant prices to guzzle down those fancy aluminum bottles they sell at the stadium.  Despite the title, there are only ten bottles shown in this photo I took in the 9th inning of a blowout ballgames that sent many people home early… and at about $11 a pop, that’s a hell of a lot of money just the fans sitting around me spent that will quite literally end up pissed down the drain.  And you wanna take a guess how many of these beer drinking fans will be driving themselves home?  Yep, I’ve always called sporting events the world’s largest drunken driver conventions…

  1. 99 bottles… that’s more than I can beer….

  2. draliman says:

That’s some mighty expensive beer. I hope it’s premium.

  3. As long as your team is winning at a game you don’t notice the ridiculous amount of $$ charged for food or drink at a game…..if they’re losing, it gives you ONE MORE THING to gripe about!

  4. Wow…can’t believe they even allow anything beyond a red Solo cup. Coors Field always serves in plastic glasses (we’re a rowdy bunch in the Mile High). Then again, it is named Coors Field…one of the worst beers around.

  5. So five beers are $55? That’s a lot. Like … really a lot.
