Which Way Did He Go?

Don’t be fooled by the tail, squirrel. She’s not one of your cousins.

How odd was it that shortly after I prepared the post for the photo of Sewie and the squirrel the other day, noting that it was one of the very few times I ever got a cat and squirrel in the same photo, that I’d get another chance at bringing together my two most photographed beasts.  Peeking out my front window, I noticed my front tree squirrel frolicking around near its base while here comes Gypsy up my neighbor’s driveway.  I thought there might be a showdown at the OK Nest for a while, but it seems that despite how upset the squirrels get when Gypsy (or any of the other neighborhood cats) is lurking around… she doesn’t seem to pay them any mind at all.  While our brave squirrel retreated up the tree as Gypsy strolled into the picture, the finicky cat barely even gave the squirrel a second glance before moving along.  Yes, squirrel… she means a whole lot more to you than you’ll ever mean to her…

Nevertheless, this week’s Saturday Squirrel keeps his peripheral vision locked on the feline intruder because you never know.  Perhaps Gypsy is cunning enough to be lulling him into a false sense of security.  Ah, the wild and dangerous games that get played even in the quiet jungles of suburbia…

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good morning and Happy 1st day of Fall!
Glad you looked out when you did, to get this photo!
Sounds like the cats around here, and the many birds that eat the cat food from the bowls out there. Mostly the cats ignore them, right beside them, but sometimes…look out bird. 🙂
