You have to look a little closely to see the squirrel in this photo… but once you do, you’ll be amused by how he’s chosen to pose for me. Ass up, looking upside down while hanging over a branch. He’s so damned silly, it’s cute. I can’t imagine doing what he’s doing without falling out of the tree and breaking my neck. But…. squirrels. They’re pretty darn cool with all the neat tricks they can do…
Since I forgot to remind everyone yesterday, I’m extending the deadline for my next “ask me a question” post to this Wednesday night. So if you haven’t submitted a thought provoking query to me yet, go here and don’t be afraid to ask the unaskable! You’ll be adding to the entertainment level of my blog, and believe me, I need all the help I can get!
Hmm, he seems to have a tiny camera in his hands and he is takinf a photo of you. Have you ever noticed they take photos of you and their tiny blogs tell stories of you.
He may have a tiny camera, though I’ll bet him picture of me turns out upside down. I would be amused to read about myself from the squirrels’ perspective…
Now that is an interesting position for sure….. I think I’ve seen it before. Let me think on it. Snorts and rolls with piggy laughter. XOXO – Bacon
Don’t think too hard… all that blood will rush to your head in that position!
It did take me awhile to see the squirrel because I was looking for the face where the tail is!
He’s a tricky little guy! I don’t know if this maneuver would fool a hawk, though…
If you say there’s a squirrel in this photo I’ll believe you. I don’t see it, but if you’re sure then who am I to doubt you? GREAT PHOTO!
You really don’t see him? Hmmmm, his camouflage is even better than I gave it credit for then. And it also means his attempt at mooning the audience wasn’t very effective…
Recently, I’ve been seeing a few more squirrels, especially down by the river. They run along the edge of the river.
I believe they can swim. One of the books I read about squirrels said it wasn’t uncommon back in the day before we reduced their numbers by 90% (Could you imagine 900% MORE squirrels running around?) to see them crossing rivers and streams in mass migrations. That would be a really cute photo to have, only I don’t think photography existed in those days…
Sometimes I think they see you coming and deliberately do something silly just to get featured on your blog…
They probably do. And the whole “run up in the tree and throw nuts at the intruder” tactic is just to cover up their yearning for fame…
That’s a good one…..you were in the right place at the right time for sure. I think he saw you coming and decided to give you the capture of a lifetime! LOL
Pam
I got vertigo just watching him!
