This photo was taken on what would have been the final Kansas City baseball trip me and my Dad had taken, only that’s my sister to the right there as she volunteered to take his place when he wound up too ill to go. This bright yellow striped walkway was a feature in the Kauffman Stadium parking lot that was brand new that year… and it inspired me to take this picture looking down its length towards the ballpark. A kind of Yellow Brick Road, if you will that did not lead to Oz, or even the nightmarish Blahs my Shelf Critters are dealing with. There was no wizard at the end of the Yellow Striped Road… just a ticket taker and a few metal detectors (Welcome to the new age…)
Yes, but the more important question is… were you wearing your ruby slippers?
No, but I did leave my heart, courage and brain at home…
Looks like you got there nice and early anyway as not too many cars there yet – that yellow striped road kinda looks like a train track to fun.

I’ve always gone to the ballpark before the gates open, being the batting practice hound I am. A parking lot trolley would be a good idea.. that is a looooong walk!
Interesting choice for a marked pathway.
Some drivers may mistake it for a speedway and….. well, attendance will probably be hurt by all the casualties…
Where’s Oz when you need it?
