Funny how when I was talking just the other day about how weird it was for three cats of (apparently) the same litter to look almost identical, I forgot all about the Mecca Kitties that briefly crashed on our lawn and garden patio at work eight years ago. Three of those four kittens were largely identical looking orange tabbies. This little fella with the glowing eyes peeking out from behind the stack of fertilizer bags was the lone exception. He or she was white furred like its mother, with the faint markings of orange tabby on its tail. It was also the shy kitty of the bunch who did not want to come out and have its picture taken… so the few shots I got of it all feature the kitten hiding behind or underneath something. Its peekaboo game was so cute, though…
it was sure a cute moment… and it’s great that we have cams to help our mother board to remember…
Like the times I go through my pictures and wonder when the hell I ever took that picture. This kitty I will not forget, though…
What happened to them?
The day after I took these photos (and they’d been with us for a little over a week by that point), management was able to get someone from a rescue facility to take the mother and four kittens. I have no idea what happened to them after that… but had I not just gotten my own two cats the year before, I would have taken two of them with me.
Kittens are such fun. Bundles of energy and mayhem…. ours used to climb up our drapes with full claws on a daily basis. Good times.
I remember when my original two cats were that little and they’d literally climb up my pants legs to get in my lap… or even up my shirt to sit on my shoulder. Now that one of them is a 20 pound whale, that arrangement is no longer medically feasible…
But the question is, does HE know that?
So cute!
It is interesting to see the definitely different personalities of kittens from the same litter. Some are brave from the first, others are shy scaredy cats.
Ody was one of those shy cats in the litter, and really remained that way until his very outgoing brother Spilly passed. I only chose Spilly because of his spunky attitude from a young age…
Sweet little one…..definitely curious about you but not QUITE sure about the TRUST thing!
Pam
It probably doesn’t help matters that I keep flashing that horrible light in their eyes…
Well, what about treats?
During their stay on our patio, they were five of the most well fed cats on earth. Everyone was buying cans of food to bring out to them. Treats would be a little over the top…
Just to gain access to the shy one, you have to lure them with something they like, after all.
A very cute little one, too.
At least it is showing its best side…
Aw 🙂😺
What a cutie. I hope they all found regular homes with families after Mecca.
