#64 – Sunpuddle Spilly

Photo taken: November 5, 2009

I’ve taken oh so many photos since I got my first digital camera nine years ago, particularly of cats and squirrels, that there is no way I can remember everything I’ve ever photographed… or even notice how really cool some of the “throwaway” pictures look.  This is one of those throwaways I rediscovered back in June when I was putting this countdown together.  It’s three month old Spilly pawing at a pool of sunlight on the floor, with his naturally ebony fur made even darker by being in the shadows.  The shadows don’t always ruin a good picture… sometimes they actually make it look so much cooler.

  1. that is a clever idea to catch some sunlight for the dark time ;O)

Grabbing some sunlight for the long winter months. Clever kitty.

  3. That’s a cool photo – I wonder if he thought it was pretty cool that when he touched the sun puddle on the floor, “someone else” touched his paw back! Kittens love shadows……..

That does look really cool. Kittens are so much fun! An old cat would just curl up to sleep in the puddle of sunlight.

    This is an excellent photo
