Greyhound buses and their iconic logo are well known in America, and it’s that running, stretched out hound silhouette that this photo of a squirrel I captured three years ago always reminds me of. The symmetry of this picture is almost flawless with the squirrel almost perfectly horizontal, at the exact midpoint of a running leap. And I think the cool factor of this picture is upped by the fact that with the angle of the sun has much of the squirrel’s body shadowed. Squirrels not touching the ground will be a semi-theme of many of this countdown’s final two months. Yes, they should get even better than this. Just leave the photography to us…
maybe it is really a kind of ghost squirrel?
This is a cool photo. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It’s Super Squirrel.
Nice catch!
Wow, look at him go! 🙂
Pretty amazing!
Well I remember that “cow jumped over the moon” thing but this guy has such great form, perhaps it should be “squirrel jumped over the moon” ??? Seems more believable than a cow too if you think about it!

This is a very cool photo! I love the way the squirrel is shadowed but its tail fluff is illuminated.
I saw something interesting the other day. You know how dogs will drop down to drag their ass on the carpet? A squirrel did that on my deck railing! I sure hope it didn’t pick up any splinters….
That’s a really super good one! He DOES look like the emblem for racing car company or something like that! Beautiful!
Very dynamic-looking fellow.
