Five years ago when I was still doing a weekly series called Flashback Friday on this blog, I did a post on primetime television’s biggest sensation at the turn of the millennium, the game show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. Having been a former on air finalist on the show, I decided to lead off that post with a picture of the fake $1,000,000 check souvenir I got from that experience… and like many other things I wanted to show off, I decided to slap it in front of Ody…ruining one of his naps, to get a photo of it. I’ve used and reused this photo so many times over the last five years… always with a witty “if Ody could talk” caption. It’s his expression that turns this from just another crappy modeling shot into a really cool photo. The cat’s smug, entitled look coupled with the million dollar check work perfectly well together. He wants to… no, DEMANDS to be spoiled with these riches. Sorry Ody, in almost 18 years, I still haven’t found a bank that’s actually gullible enough to cash it yet…

It actually never could have been since I was on during the run where they had a bonus jackpot if you won the million… so I coulda won $1,860,000. Obviously, I didn’t or I’d jave already bought Ding Dong School and hired a new cook…

Ha! Instead of a real check, I got a tax bill instead for expenses! Being a game show contestant ins’t all it’s cracked up to be…

His expression is so cat! I don’t know of any other creature that can convey so much contempt, disgust and a belief in their superiority with just an expression and you captured it so perfectly!

I’ve had many offers from Nigerian princes who want to wire funds to my bank account. I give them the routing number of Regis’ check… hope he isn’t broke yet.
