You may think you have a big mouth, but let’s see you try to carry around a bowling ball with just your teeth… while climbing a tree no less! At the time, I had no idea what that big green ball this supersquirrel was hauling up that tree was… but a helpful commenter pointed out that it was a walnut! We’re just not used to seeing them still in their green husk. I did a separate post on walnuts featuring a different squirrel last year that gets a ton of hits from internet searchers wondering the same thing I was. I digress, however… this post is about THIS squirrel lugging around THAT nut, and no matter how many times I look at it, I still can’t believe he can do that! What amazing little critters these so-called pests are…
Damn, that’s a big nut!
It’s practically tennis ball sized… or relative to the squirrel, bowling ball sized. It takes a lot of talent to move that freight…
if that squirrel would know how small the nut inside really is, would it work anyway like that greek guy named sissyphos?
LOL, yes it would because squirrels probably waste about 90% of their energy doing things that are completely useless! They don’t even remember where most of their buried nuts are…
Typical nuts post 😉
Just what you would expect here…
😀
Holy crivens! I wonder if he made it to the top first time or if it took him a few attempts?
If that walnut would have fallen, there’s no way I’d have missed it. I was sure the squirrel who took the corn cob up my tree was going to drop it eventually, but nope…
I’d like to know also if he made it up to his nest with that thing…….they aren’t “lightweight” either as we see those in our yard from time to time!
Pam
He can probably bench press five of those walnuts at the same time, and juggle them while running up the tree. He’s a real circus act…
Now that’s one hard working sciuridaen.
Wait until his wife tells him he brought the wrong nut back to the nest…
