My Dad was something else… and this is my favorite photo I took of him, which I used occasionally on my blog even before he passed last year. So what’s the story behind this picture? Well, Dad occasionally borrowed money off of me… and at my request, always paid it back in one dollar bills. No, I don’t frequent the types of places you would need lots of singles for… I’ve long been an avid user of the website “Where’s George?” which allows you to enter, mark, and track where your paper currency goes throughout the country and even the world. Ones obviously end up in change a lot, so they move at the fastest rate… plus, you can release more into circulation at the time. So anyway… Dad brings me this stack of 100 one dollar bills… and being weird like he was, he sorted them out on the table by each of the twelve Federal Reserve Banks (That A through L letter on each bill). When I came in and saw this scene of Dad laid out with twelve stacks of money in front of him… I had to grab the camera, and true to form, he hammed it up for me with the side glance and crossed arms. Way to keep it real, Daddy Mack…
what a super idea… was your dad a fan of thje nest too? I bet he was ;O)))
Dad never got into the internet… my Mom always had to show him my blog on her little phone…
I remember this one too – such a great photo and it’s cool to know the “back story” ! I bet you got your sense of humor from him right? RIGHT?????
Pam
Half of it, for sure. My fascination with killing Buster would probably come from his side…
Ha! Nice memory….
I’ve seen this photo before and it’s a good one. Nice story to go with it, too.
Without the story, it almost seems to be set up like my Shelf Critter Theatre stories. Other than the occasional cat, I’ve never used live actors before…
Your Pops sounded like quite the character. Guess that old adage is true…the nut doesn’t fall far from the tree. 😍
I think a bunch of the nuts wound up falling on my head. Both of my parents have/had their weird side, but I easily outdo them combined…
I like this photo of your Dad. Sounds like he had a great sense of humor, and what a neat idea for him to do that for you. 🙂
My Dad could be a goofball… though I think he’d have drawn the line at posing stuffed toys in front of the camera and having them act out inappropriate scenes!
A great photo! Thanks to out TV we also know the word pimp, with a white limousine here, too.
I don’t know if there are any pimps who ride in white limos, though you could probably pimp up a limo. Pimp is one of those great American words that has many uses and meanings… all of them a bit eyebrow raising.
Heh, that’s the sort of photo that gets you noticed by the cops if you post it on Facebook…
Looks like we’ve finally found the suspect who’s been holding up those vending machines!
That’s a very cool idea, tracking your “singles” as they go. You must still miss your dad. I still miss my mom and it has been more than 30 years …
I do. The Where’s George thing is really neat. The guy who came up with the website is from your neck of the woods. It’s been around for 20 years now this month, though I didn’t discover it until 2002…
This is a great picture. ❤️
