Gargoyle

My food! Go away!!!

This classic pulled from The Nest’s vast squirrel archive looks like it would have been more appropriate to post near Halloween rather than Christmas.  I’m not sure what’s up with this hungry little guy, but that face and that pose seems to be trying to strike fear in the hearts of someone.  He looks like some scary monster statue who has been mounted on top of the corn feeder.  Or perhaps he has seen something that can not be unseen and now he’s stunned and has lost his appetite.  I do hope Snuggle Bear hasn’t been mooning anyone out the window again…

This has been another episode of Saturday Squirrel Theatre on The Nest.  Have a great holiday weekend everyone!

  1. Looks like that guy needs a spot of dental work. 🐿

    • The Nest’s version of dental insurance consists of all the sticks he can gnaw on. His mouth looks weird because that hard piece of corn looks like it’s stuck to his teeth, and I don’t know how that happened…

  2. Corn feeders. They are the devil of the squirrel population.

    • My personal Satan perished earlier this year… so now the corn just gets thrown out in the backyard, and usually one enterprising squirrel will carry the whole cob up into the tree to hog for himself…

Ha! I’m going with the Snuggle Bear hypothesis, he looks like he’s in shock. Merry Christmas!

  4. Hmm….looks like he MIGHT have a corn kernel stuck in his teeth !
