#8 – A Standing Ovation

Photo taken: December 31, 2014

Oh my goodness, the fun I had on a New Years Eve afternoon four years ago watching my squirrels FINALLY figure out how to get at the corn block on a bungee cord I attached to my tree on Christmas Day.  This squirrel would later be the Neil Armstrong who would finally figure out how to land on the edible moon, but not before he gave me such a super cute shot of him standing tall on his hind legs looking quizzically at that mass conglomeration of food hanging over his head!  I get nice photos of squirrels standing upright from time to time… but almost never with their butts completely off the ground!  Look at that adorable furry squirrel belly with the tabby stripes!  That feeder contraption was worth the entire ten bucks I spent on it…

  1. That really is a spectacular photo – I don’t think I’ve seen tabby stripes on a squirrel before – are you sure it isn’t some kind of corset or maybe one of those Dr. Ho’s Belts I’ve seen advertised on TV???????

  2. This might be my favorite picture yet!!

  3. I think I can almost reach it if I stretch just a little bit more.

  4. It’s snowing (lightly) here and there isn’t a bird or a squirrel in sight. Off hanging with the reindeer?

    Aw!
Human, you taunt me with your seemingly unattainable feeding contraption, but I shall prevail…

So cute! I just want to scritch that fluffy white tummy!
