I don’t even know where to begin with this photo since there are so many interesting and relevant aspects that could be included in its introduction. I was on a picture taking expedition in the park trying to follow a different squirrel through the trees… this one, to be precise… and happened to accidentally pan by one of the most amazing, incredible, utterly insane scenes I have ever captured on camera! I would have never noticed it otherwise since it was occurring at least 100 feet above the ground… which makes what the squirrel is doing even more ridiculous! Look at him just dangle there upside down by the power of his toenails and snack on a nut!!!
Here’s a closeup of this daredevil…
Please folks… do not attempt these stunts at home! Batsquirrel is obviously a trained professional stuntsquirrel… and lunatic!
Like Batman… only cuter!
This squirrel doesn’t need silly looking man tights….
wow, amazing stunt!
It’s the craziest thing I’ve ever seen a squirrel do!
I do remember this impossible photo – one of the most amazing death-defying feats of squirreldom EVER. Good thing he hadn’t had a pedicure in a while or he’d never have pulled this off!

I would worry about what would happen if one of those sharp claws got stuck in the tree… that would be an awkward position to be caught in!
Egad, they must have Velcro feet!
I think gravity works different in a squirrel’s universe…
Yeek, what’s he thinking? How’s he gonna get back up?
I think he’s going to need Robin’s help with that….
I love Batsquirrel! I’ve been watching squirrels for years and I’ve never seen anything like this. What a little daredevil! Maybe he was raised by a family of bats. 🦇
The only other squirrel I’ve ever seen hang upside down is the one you captured in that feeder… and that wasn’t waaaaaay off the ground. This just isn’t natural for squirrels, and I don’t know what possessed him to eat hanging down like that! There are bats in the park, so you never know!
