So here’s the nadir of this week’s polar vortex, at least for my neck of the woods… which I guess I’m glad is a bit underneath the 40th parallel. My car thermometer (Which I’m still getting used to after years and years of driving 20th century transportation) bottomed out at -5 degrees of Fahrenheit on the drive home from work Wednesday morning. Sorry the picture looks so shitty, but I took it after I pulled into my garage, and it’s a little dark in there.
My thermometer hanging outside my front door painted a somewhat balmier picture…
This morning is hanging around in the positive single digits, so…… heat wave! Actually, that comes this weekend when it will be back in the 50’s. You silly, silly weather…
On another note… I don’t know if WordPress ate my post from yesterday for lunch or not, but it seems to have gotten lost in the ether. I know traffic has been a bit slow lately, but I’ve never seen a post of mine get a whopping four views and only one like in the first 20 hours before! And naturally, as I typed this, Draliman commented on it! Ha!
Edited to add: Apparently yesterday’s post got a bad link attached to it by WordPress… but that’s been fixed now!
Minus world is a perfect summation. Well said, evil.
It’s a reference to a hidden “level” in the Nintendo version of Super Mario Bros… and yes, it perfectly sums up the land of frigid temps this week…
We are – apparently – in a minus world in more ways than one! The only time WP didn’t publish a post of mine was when I forgot to hit SCHEDULE after creating my masterpiece.
Pam
The post published, it just apparently was inaccessible for some reason via notifications. I accidentally scheduled one of my Saturday Squirrel posts last month for Monday a few weeks ago, and was perplexed when I came home from work that morning why it wasn’t there!
I call things like that (which I do often) “brain bloopers”…..hahaha…..
ody N biskit…we waz chillin yesterday at minuz 16 …chillin…litter ul lee….we wood hug de fern uz but we iz knot a loud in de garage rite now ~ 🙂 ♥♥
My Granny had a big kerosene stove to heat her house, and it used to feel nice to stand in front of it on a cold day… but come too close and OUCH!
Hijacked by Mother Nature AND WP…think that qualifies as a craptastic kind of day.
It truly was a Wordless Wednesday, as I have nothing good to say about it…
And my comment was to let you know the link was all screwed up!
Well, look at you with your fancy new-car info-screen. Welcome to the new world!
There is nothing on that screen other than the temperature that I couldn’t easily get out of my old 20th century car. And my Neon never constantly nagged at me to keep my eyes on the road… like duh.
I know! I nearly hit the curb once while trying to get rid of the message telling me to use the sat nav responsibly.
I think a lot of stuff got lost yesterday. I had almost no comments on anything and the lowest stats since last Thanksgiving. Posts are showing up very slowly and sometimes, not at all. I’ve stopped keeping count. WordPress does its thing. I just do mine and I hope that some of it gets through or makes someone smile or laugh or think.
It went up to zero today. Garry went out to take pictures and the camera froze. Glad there’s no climate change.
Something was definitely wonky Wednesday. When even the random, drive by, never see them again posters who stop by to click Like on something that was just posted five seconds ago don’t show up… something is amiss in WordPress land.
