Share Your World – Week 5

Did you watch? I didn’t. I didn’t even find out who won until Monday morning. And I still don’t care.

Most people have long forgotten their silly resolutions by the time the calendar rolls over to February and it starts feeling natural to see the number 2019 and realize it really is that year.  We don’t give up so easily here at The Nest, and so with another Tuesday comes another stab at Melanie’s Share Your World challenge!  Come in, Google Earth…

There’s a special heart themed version of this, but why waste perfectly good storage space?

What’s wrong but sounds right?

Geez, about half of the things most “normal” people find wrong I have no problem with.  Maybe I should pass this question off to one of the staff here at The Nest.  Excuse me, sir…

BUSTER: Hi there!  May I be of assistance?

I was just wondering if you knew of something that’s wrong but sounds so right?

BUSTER: Hmmmmm… that’s a pretty deep question.  Let me think about it.  What is morally objectionable, but seems like a fun thing to do?  (The smell of burning possum brains fills the air)  Gee, I’m stumped!  I don’t know what….. oops!

That’s it, Buster!  You’re a genius!  Killing you off on my blog is so wrong, but just feels so right.  Think of all the entertainment value it brings folks!

What physical action or gesture do you find romantic?

Probably something that would be construed these days as sexual harassment, which is one reason why I don’t flirt…

Goosey, goosey.

What’s something you really resent paying for?

Despite my extremely frugal nature, I have a bad tendency to buy things that I either don’t end up using or which end up not being of any use to me.  I’d love to have the hundreds (approaching thousands) of dollars back that I spent on “cheap” baseball cards from the late 80’s and early 90’s about 20 years ago.  Cards which were being offered on the cheap because they were so mass produced that they’ll never be rare enough to have any actual value in my lifetime.  That was a sunk cost…

Except for the decade old gum that came in many of the packs. That was some good shit!

What’s your favorite romance movie?

Um….. no.  How about I nominate one of my Shelf Critter Theatre plays that could loosely be called a romance.  If you like your love story just a little on the fucked up side, you’ll love When Trolly Met Rainy

Nothing puts me in the mood like a spraying lovestruck skunk.

What were you uplifted by in the past week?

The weather was slightly more bearable?  Otherwise, it was a pretty meh week for the uplifting, YAY kind of stuff…

Mehest Week Ever.

  1. Looks like WordPress has done it to me again with this post being either invisible and/or corrupted. SIgh….

  2. I got it. But they’ve screwed us ANYWAY. They just can’t help themselves. If it works — even badly — they have to break it MORE so it doesn’t work at ALL.

    • There’s some kind of notification system that’s not working right on some posts… possibly the Reader. No drive by likes on a post within the first hour or so is a good indication that something’s amiss. No drive by likes on a post within the first 12 hours is a dead giveaway. I’m almost wondering if something went buggy on the classic editor that they will never ever fix…

  3. I got it too……….totally on board with your “What’s Wrong But Sounds Right” – that possum was made for routine bloodbaths – just ask Zeeba. I also agree that your Shelf Critter Theater productions are the most interesting kind of romance stories to read – even if they are sometimes painful to read (haha). Flirting? What’s that???? I think I may be a tad rusty in that department.

    • I think I’m gonna have Zeeba pay a visit to WP HQ the next time one of my posts comes up unreadable, as I’ve determined was the problem. I don’t think she’d fix my problem, but I’ll bet I’d feel a whole lot better about it!

  4. Yup, apart from the weather, it was a mostly ‘meh’ week. Hope your WP issues get resolved. When I first logged on I had a notification there was a Plugin update that needed to be done or the world would end and then…on it’s ow, it went away. Somebody in the grand WP poo-bah’s cubicle must have ‘unplugged’ something and then sarcastically said, “just kidding?” Grr.

    • This has made a meh week even worse. Draliman let me know by email that even from my blog’s homepage the link for this post was inaccessible. I’d hate to have to go all Buster on a few Happiness Engineers…

  5. draliman says:

    Your post lives again (Gordon’s alive… alive… alive… alive…)!
Buster looks so happy and enthusiastic before his brain explodes…

    • Buster always looks so happy! I love how that expression YoungAtFifty put on his face has completely changed his personality from a creep who got killed all the time into a happy go lucky possum who gets killed all the time…

  6. ghostmmnc says:

Well, I’m seeing this today, and I tried yesterday but it wouldn’t work and said that the page was unavailable or something like that. So, I’m glad I see it now, and hope all is getting back to normal.

    • Thanks for the info! This is the same thing that happened with last week’s post… it didn’t work at all until the next day. There weren’t any problems with my post today, so it seems to be some weird random glitch… but a really annoying one.

  7. Ally Bean says:

[FWIW. On this post the system won’t let me *like* what you wrote. But it’s going to let me leave a comment… maybe?]

  8. Trisha says:

Killing Buster is a good example of something that sounds right but is wrong, or whatever that first question was. My short term memory is nonexistent today. My long term memory must be shot too because I don’t remember When Trolly met Rainy. I’ll have to go reread it to relive their romance.
